Wonderful views of the Tigullio Area
Very good value (€10 return). We were there in the very hot weather so it was relatively cool at the top. Excellent views of the Rapallo/Tigullio area with PortoFino in the distance. Santuario Basilica Nostra Signora di Montallegro well worth seeing at the top. Absolutely must take the short 10 minute walk to Casa del Pelligrino which is a small hotel/restaurant with even better views from the lovely shaded terrace. The rooms were fairly cheap and it would be lovely to stay there for a night. My wife took the cable car down and I walked down. The walk is lovely and mostly shaded with trees so don't expect many views. However the path is quite uneven with cobbled stones so although the inclines are not steep you have to watch your footing which slows you down. The walk took me 1.5 hours. Take water!

    Don't miss it!
We were very lucky to have the car to ourselves, up and down! Timing is everything and we got there just a few minutes before the final ride of the day........ The ride takes seven minutes and the treat was that the bells of the church at the top were ringing, and a service taking place - broadcast to the piazza in front of the church, which is well worth a visit - unique with its many tributes to former members of the local community. The view from the cable car is worth the fare in itself - looking over the Ligurian coastline in the direction of Portofino.

    Rapallo From Above!
The cable car is excellent value and served by friendly, helpful staff. Immediately at the top, there is a handy terrace cafe/bar to grab a drink or light meal while waiting for your ride back down. There's a more formal bar/restaurant a little further along the path to the church, in a lovely spot. Unfortunately, the cable car finishes running about 4.30pm, so this would only be good for a lunch session, not evening meal. Apart from visiting the church, there are lots of great walks to do of varying lengths, but you'd be best to research these beforehand to get the most from your time. There were no route suggestions, maps or clear signage at the top, as I'd hoped there would be in such a visitor hotspot.

Great place to visit and wonderful views! When we visited, not a long waiting time. Nice coffee and restaurant on the top.

Easy to find cable car, smooth ride up the mountain. Just yet another beautiful Italian church at the top. They get a bit boring once you've been in your 70th one! Great views from the top. Warning ahead: if you're going to walk back down the mountain there is a path but it's very steep in places. Best to have on walking shoes. I got down in about 90mins. If you like lizards and snakes it's the walk for you!

Really well organised (we forgot masks and they happily provided) and a really decent length up there so definitely value for money ! Amazing views and there is a lovely bar at the top which serves very welcome drinks and also a restaurant a bit nearer the santuario. No way we could have walked up in the August heat and the views over Rapallo, Santa Margherita Ligure to Portofino were stunning!

the cable car from Rapallo gives you direct access to Monteallgro which is a site that includes the sanctuary of our lady of Montallegro a very good restaurant and hotel, the Il Pellegrino and numerous walks surrounded by nature.
it runs every half hour starting from 09.00 with th last trip at 16.30. There is also a lunch break from 12.30 till 14.00. a return trip will cost you 8 euro.

Great walk down from the top of the mountain but it does take 2 hours and you need goos shoes as the path is made up of stones that can be slippy
