Portofino captured my imagination many years ago. I had previously been a big fan of the charming villages on lake Garda and the narrow streets and court yards of Venice. Portofino offers the best of both places with a mariner's gateway to the Mediterranean. If you're a billionaire and have a boat deck full of blondes then Portofino is just... More

Beautiful location, just a short walk to the right from the main harbor. (no signs, just follow the road to the right). The staff is friendly and very accomodating and spoke good english. Wetsuits and or rash guards are available as well as life vests, but no towels. The water is quite chilly, but clear and beautiful. The option to... More

My mum, sister and I did the hour snorkelling tour! It was the first time I'd snorkelled and was made to feel at ease! The equipment was good. We were given the choice of short or long wetsuits which was a bonus! Our instructor was very friendly and spoke very good English! He talked us through all the species we... More

We enjoyed our outing last weekend. It was a busy Saturday and we ended up parking in Portofino and walking 10-15 minutes back to the area. It's a nice way to spend an hour and we learned a little bit about the protected area and its creatures before heading out. Saturdays in the summertime in this area are just CRAZY... More

We went snorkeling and stand up paddle boarding with Outdoor Portofino. They are located near Paraggi Beach, which is an easy walk from either Portofino or Santa Margherita. We had a great morning paddle boarding around the bay. Our guide gave great instruction before we went out and even show different fish and sea life we may see while snorkeling.... More

We had a easy paddle around Positano. Got a bit rough around the headland which was fun. Snorkelled for a little while from a small beach. Got a bit cold even with wetsuits but saw some fish. Had a really nice dinner and wine from the top of the headland. Beautiful views down the coast. Our guide Fredericco had lived... More

Very friendly service! We rented a kayak for 1 hour to explore the surrounding from the sea. The kayaks are a little wider, which gives you more stability on the sea.

If you are in the vicinity of Genoa, a trip to Portofino is a must. Sitting in the sunshine enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and a glass of wine or two, watching the various boats pass you by whilst enjoying some typical Italian fayre is idyllic. Dn't buy any souveniers in Portofino though, it is very expensive!

Portofino is a seaside resort town just 20 minutes from Santa Margherita Ligure. Beautiful and scenic with small shops suited for leisurely stroll through the narrow, cobbled streets. Lots of small quaint eateries and cafes to rest tired feet and to enjoy some libation. Site of Andrea Bocelli's "Love in Portofino" concert in 2013. Worth visiting if you're anywhere near... More
