We were in Portofino for a day and walked out to the Lighthouse from the harbor - it's about a 20 minute walk, depending on your level of fitness and how often you stop to admire the scenery. The Lighthouse was actually closed when we arrived at the end of the path, but there is a lounge around the front that overlooks the Ligurian Sea. The views are spectacular and the lounge serves great drinks - we sat out there at a small table for about an hour, enjoying the space, the warmth, the fresh air, and a few rounds of aperol spritz - absolutely worth the time and effort to reach this lovely spot.

Beautiful city!! The scenery is perfect. The colors and the landscaping. It’s almost like it’s not real. A perfect postcard. Very romantic. My 14 year old didn’t like all the walking. (Oh well🤣) This was an excursion from our cruise after docking in Genova. Beautiful shops all around. I enjoyed the atmosphere.

This is a lovely walk and the views from the Faro are simply amazing. The Faro itself is nothing special but the attraction is the views from the walk and the location.

I needed a nice walk after sitting in the car for 3 hours getting to Portofino so it was worth it to me to walk to the very end, but I found the lighthouse underwhelming in comparison to the walk up and the views on the way up. It is completely different at the end coming out of lush forest into a very arid micro clim. It is interesting from that perspective, but the lighthouse is much more interesting from the sea.
