Stopped here for a pastry and coffee while walking through "downtown" La Spezia. It's a large square with a couple cafes, and a number of shops but lacks any greenery or color. Not the most attractive or interesting square we have encountered!

During the weekend is crowded in the night by a lot of young people, that give energy to this calm square. During the day it's a nice place to pass by, with several bars and ice cream shops.

Piazzetta Del Bastione is a central area and public space in La Spezia. There several cafes, restaurants and other types of shops around. You can stop and rest if you wish but it is not the best place to spend your time, especially if it's limited.

This area is safe, quaint, and busy any time of the day. Lots of shops and restaurants to entertain everyone.
