La Spezia is a relaxing place for a holiday but not easy to find a good breakfast. So the Market was our go to place for buying food for our breakfasts. Good quality, lively and friendly.

The central market in LaSpezia is a wonderful mix of tastes, colours and sounds. A great way to start the day dealing with numerous locals who were all happy and tolerant of three bemused Australians. Mostly friendly and honest, we would recommend this market place as a great way to discover and learn about the various foods and wines produced in this and many other locales in Italy.

There's a huge selection of fresh and reasonably priced seafood. Most vendors are helpful and they clean the seafood really well for us. If you are self-catering, buy all you seafood, vegetables and fruits here. Limited choices of meat though.

A great place to see what your food looks like before it's cooked in the many restaurants in the region. Or its another way to get upset when you realize how much of a premium you're paying to have someone prepare and cook your food. Jokes aside, its a nice place to spend 15-20 minutes.

If your a lovers of market I would recommend this one! Heap of fresh fruit/ vegetable and seafood! It's only about 15min from the train station. So if your coming through La Spezia come and check this out!

This walk climbs to about 200m. It is easier walking from Vernazza in the afternoon as the sun is not in your eyes and preferably when under 25 degrees Celsius. The views are spectacular. Corniglia town square is small and busy with a nice Church. The bigger boats have no entry.

With a modern architecture the great variety of fresh products and the sourroundings make this market a good place to make a visit and enjoy the magnificent italian products specially and make some shopping as a local.

The surroundings is what makes this pace special.
The market itself is a so so place.
We had been to the large Sunday market in ferenzia before so I suppose that's why it felt like that.
Wonderful ice cream and pleasant people makes for a nice little stroll but we didn't buy anything :)
What saying is : don't go out of your way to hit this market but if you are there by all means stroll through it

I love markets. We were taking a bus from Portovenere to Lerici, with a change of bus in la Spezia. We noticed there was a market about a block from where we disembarked the bus. There is a covered market which sells fruits, vegetables, cheese, seafood and some meat. Surrounding the area are also stalls which sell household items and cheap shoes and clothing. This is not one of the best markets I have ever been to but it is worth a half hour or so visit if you happen to be in the area on market day.
