We were looking forward to visiting this museum and checked out reviews and their website, but at the door the sign said "masks" so we dutifully put on our masks and entered. Alas the door guy indicated that the blue ones that surgeons wear were inadequete, only one of us had a K95 so the visit was aborted. Please not, there were no other tourists in the place, there was no mention of K95s needed on their website, only the public transport system in Italy now mandates masks, they are recommended in some places but generally noone wears them so it was a very disappointing, upsetting wast of time. A bit of common sense would not have gone astray, it's a big place, it was empty and we were wearing masks!!

The museum is a quiet get away on the waterfront of La Spezia. Everyone needs to show proof of vaccination. There is a wonderful display of ship figureheads and low speed human driven torpedos.

We visited the museum in about 2 hours although some of it was closed for renovations and covid, and we had a great time. Do recommend for guns and cannons enthusiasts.

Nice for two hours. Very interesting and nice to look at. Unfortunatelly not that much in English. There is a parking in front but only for two hours. It is open also now.

Just a €1:55 donation entrance fee and this is an amazing museum. Great and varied displays inside and outside in the garden. Outside is a bit unkempt but don't miss the large items out there. A great place to visit.

Head upstairs for the collection of ships figureheads. Head through the room with lots of guns and torpedoes in it to the very interesting display of early (1969) diving technology. There’s a short film showing each technique in action. This is well worth the small entry fee. The wooden figureheads are a superb extra.

Museo Tecnico Navale della Spezia is a nice museum with many displays on naval artifacts from Italian Navy, either on land or ships that are associated with navigation. Payment of entrance fee is necessary and consider worthwhile.

For the price you pay it was well worth it.The ships figureheads are superb and are probably the best of any where in the world.

This is a large and diverse collection with some amazing exhibits. My only suggestion would be that more explanations include some English.

The naval museum contains a good amount of artifacts from the Italian navy used on land (anti-aircraft) and submarines and ships (torpedoes and scuba diving), and other ancient items associated with navigation. It is dedicated to the memory of those who fought for their ideals within the Italian Navy.
It is a must-visit place in the beautiful city of La Spezia.
