EMA Sail took us on a 6 hour sail. The boat was beautiful and the sights we saw were one not to forget. We went on a very windy day with a lot of gusts, but Emanuele and Valter handled the boat exceptionally well. We docked and had a delicious lunch of caprese and prosecco. During our cruise we tucked our way into some beautiful cities. We were all given the opportunity to sail the boat and Valter gave fantastic recommendations on how to find and make great food and drink. If you are anywhere near the Cinque Terre or La Spezia area, i highly recommend spending a day with EMA Sail.

Highly recommend Emanuele & this sailing experience. Booking the trip was easy and the comms great beforehand. The sail boat is comfortable and the skipper was really keen for us to treat the boat as if it was our own which was so cool... even got a chance to steer!

The skipper is lovely, he is originally from Cinque terre so was able to tell us lots about the area & growing up in the area which was fun. We stopped twice for a dip in the sea & some snorkelling. We also had a lovely light lunch with prosecco. It was the highlight to our trip to Cinque Terre.

My husband and 2 girls (age 11 and 13) booked a day trip with Emmanuel. It was one of the best days of our holiday. Beautiful boat and amazing scenery, and a wonderful skipper. Nothing was too much trouble for Emmanuel, he made us feel so relaxed and completely looked after us. My girls loved jumping off the boat and going in the dinghy! The lunch was lovely, especially the pasta salad made by his mum. If I ever get the chance to go back to La Spezia, I would definitely do this again- such an amazing day and I highly recommend :-) Thanks so much Emmanuel!

Our family of 5 took a day trip with Emanuele along the coast of the Cinque Terre. He was nothing short of amazing in every way. From helping our 3 young kids, to letting them skipper the boat and to blowing up the lilo to serving up his Mum’s beautiful pasta salad. Nothing was an issue for Emanuele, rather you could see he loved his job and loved interacting with people. For us, the combination of the unforgetable experience of enjoying the coast by private boat and his charismatic, genuine and warm personality made our day.

Just do this tour if you come anywhere near this part of the coast and book in Emanuele. You will not be disappointed.

We did our day trip with Emanuele during our visit to La Spezia. He was wonderful to sail with and we really enjoyed our day around the Gulf of Poets. His mother had made the pasta we had for lunch which was amazing, and the focaccia he brought for lunch was undoubtedly the best we've ever had. It was a wonderful and relaxing day sailing the beautiful area and Emanuele was very experienced and funny. Would definitely recommend!

We loved the relaxing day we spent on the water with our captain Emanuele! He gave us a great guided tour of the coast and the villages of Cinque Terre. It was amazing to see via water. We had a light lunch with Prosecco or beer, and just relaxed on the boat. Would not have done it any other way! Highly recommend!

Our recent sailing outing with Emasail was truly the highlight of an already terrific week. The whole experience was wonderful. We sailed past the picturesque towns of Portovenere and Cinque Terre, then anchored in a protected area for a refreshing swim and snorkeling in the clear blue Mediterranean. Next a delicious lunch of focaccia, fresh sliced tomato and mozzarella, pasta salad and prosecco wine. All for a great price. We were so glad we booked Emasail--Emanuele was a delight and we highly recommend it!

We had a great day sailing with Emanuele. He greeted the four of us at the harbour of La Spezia, and off we went sailing merely straight off the inner harbour. Emanuele was very friendly and fun to be with during the day. He made us an exellent Italian lunch with Prosecco and beer along with it, served at anchor in the bay of Portovenere. Pity the day didn't last forever :-) We would love to come back. Kind regards from The Waage family of Norway. Arrivederci !

This was our favorite part of our trip! Valter took us out on the sailboat and taught us how to sail as well as showed us interesting parts of the land. The food and wine were simple yet so amazing. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone I can. The best part was talking to someone from Italy and truly learning more about their culture and history. Valter was so knowledgable and willing to answer any questions we asked.

Valter and Emanuele, a father and son team run this wonderful business. From the moment we first spoke to Emanuele on the phone, right through to the very end of the sailing trip we were treated to the greatest hospitality we have ever received.

We called Emasail the evening before our trip and Emanuele immediately answered the phone (unlike another company that did not answer right away, and took a few hours to respond to our voicemail). His English was excellent and we discussed what kind of trip we wanted. We opted for a day of sailing, departing from La Spezia and touring around the local coastline at a cost of €99 per person. Emanuele sent the details of the trip to us via text message (where to meet, what to bring etc) which was great!

The cost of the trip turned out to be an absolute bargain since myself and my wife were the only two on the boat! A private trip!

Emanuele's father, Valter was our skipper and greeted us in Porto Mirabello. He welcomed us aboard and immediately we began to relax as we got to know one another. Valter talked about the maritime history of La Spezia, Cinque Terre and Portovenere dating back to before the Romans. We also discussed Italian cuisine and culture at length. His knowledge was fascinating. Valter and Emanuele are born and bred in Cinque Terre from a family that has lived there for generations. So to say we got a local insight would be an understatement.

On the boat Valter made us feel very relaxed, drinks were served (and included in the cost), and he taught us how to sail. We actually did most of the sailing ourselves with expert guidance from Valter. It was really great to learn some new sailing techniques while under the supervision of an experienced seaman like Valter.

Our trip took us past Portovenere (more beautiful than any of the towns in Cinque Terre) down the coast towards Cinque Terre then around some nearby islands where we found a private cove and dropped anchor. Here we had lunch, which Valter prepared while we were snorkeling. We saw lots of fish, tiny jellyfish and other marine life. Lunch and the snorkeling gear was included in the price of the tour.

While we ate a delicious lunch and enjoyed prosecco, we smiled as hoards of tourists with selfie sticks, packed onto noisy motorboats and ferries were shuttled back and forth between La Spezia and Cinque Terre. Little did they know, for only a handful of extra Euros they could have the experience of a lifetime like we did.
