We found this restaurant by chance having left a previous one due to serving staff rudeness. We were very glad to have stumbled upon delle erbe! Our meal was really delicious - try their take on tonnato - and it was buzzing with local people which is always a good sign. Too bad we were coming home or we would have returned.

Piazza delle Erbe is a popular square with a few bars and restaurants, but the square itself is fully packed with chairs and tables. Many locals but also tourists come here to have a drink or eat a meal. The square is near the Piazza Ferrari. If you cross the street in front of Palazzo Ducale, all the small streets lead to this lively square. At night all the restaurants and bars are crowded and the outside terraces are full with people. Off course this square is located in the old town and therefore it looks a bit run down, but this belongs to the atmosphere.

Good evening hangouts are a little thin on the ground in Genoa, but Plazza delle Erbe can bear the weight of responsibility. There are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants, and if you get bored of them then there's always Bar Giardini Luzzati up on the community garden that overlooks the plaza.

Piazza delle Erbe, one of the liveliest squares in the city, both day and night, thanks to the many bars, restaurants and pubs, crowded place mainly from university people over the weekend. During the summer it is definitely the hub of nightlife.

In a city square this restaurant has quick and attentive service together with excellent well-priced pizzas. Recommended.

We came here 2 nights during our city break.
Good atmosphere and popular
Both bars we used offered good aperitivo and good service. All the bars in the area looked popular.
Hard to find as down a little ally way

We sat down for a drink in this bustling square ringed by bars and cafes on our first night in Genoa - it's just a few paces from the main Piazza Ferrari but surprisingly secluded. All human life is here and it's not the place for a quiet tete a tete, but as long as you're primed for a nightlife nexus it's a good place to start the evening with a drink or two. There are plenty of restaurants less than 100 yards away which offer more refined food, though.

With temps soaring and even our local guide seeking shade on our walk around the city we were off on our own for a wander before our lift back to our ship. We ventured across from a main square and after a couple of turns into other streets we discovered this area and with some shade from the sun we sat and enjoyed a beer and coffee at one of the many little bars in the area. With a number of locals also gradually appearing around lunchtime the area started to wake up with other proprietors gradually setting out their tables and umbrellas for what would no doubt be a busy evening.

If you like to pass your night with friends chatting, drinking or eating something, this is the right place... it could be a little noisy and crowdy cause a lot of people have your same idea, so it's better you arrive in time to get a table. If you come here in the morning you could not recognize it and, what's a miracle: in the middle of the square there's an ancient fountain!
