About
"La città dei bambini e dei ragazzi" - the children and young people's town - is the place where your children can learn about science and technology while having fun. Over 2000 square meters where visitors between 2 and 12 years meet, observe and experiment with different topics. With more than 90 interactive and multimedia exhibits, children put themselves to the test both alone or in the company of adults to share a learning experience with the family. Child-friendly. It's never too early to learn. For this reason, children between 2 and 3 years have a dedicated area where they can discover the world playing. There is a small enchanted forest where they can explore a cave, go into the house, climb a small bridge and cross the river. Of course in complete safety, an easy and fun way for children to interact to objects and their own body. The discovery of the world however, awaits children between 3 and 5 years: in a real construction site, equipped with helmets, the kids play with small bricks, wheelbarrows, buckets and cranes. The young scientific minds can experiment with water, while others can freely express their creativity by drawing on touch screens.

Well this captured the children's imagination!

Youngest grandchild (aged 4 1/2) said this was his favourite bit of the holiday and he wanted to go back. Praise indeed.

There are two areas - up to five and older than five (or was it four?). Never mind. Both children, enjoyed the interaction, building, sensory investigation, and learning through play. Mom, a scientist by training, also enjoyed working/playing with them.

You have to have the socks with rubber soles which are cheap to buy.

If visiting Genoa with children - go to this place. Well worth a few hours.

Great break for the Kiddo
Jul 2018 • Family
This was a fun break for the kids. Probably could spend 1-2 hours happily. And the price is definitely right! There is everything from construction to film studio, insects to ships, bubbles to mazes. When you go, bring or have the kids wear socks because they have the kids run around sock-footed. Parents get to wear shoe covers that are provided. In the same area as the Port, so it is convenient if you want to give the little ones some run around time. Very enjoyable!

A break for the kids
May 2017 • Family
City breaks can perhaps get a little boring for kids, so to have somewhere like this where our 3 year old son can have fun and burn some excess energy is brilliant.
The building site room was his favourite and great for kids his age - wheelbarrows, bricks, a crane, safety barrier, conveyor... he loved it! Also in this room was a water table (smocks and shoes provided) and a smaller activity area with little caves to explore.
The other rooms had activities for older kids which we looked into, but really the building site room was best suited for his age group.
Don't expect a full or even half a day spent there, a couple of hours will see little ones tired and your ears ringing.
Every hour or so there seemed to be a school party arriving so it went from very empty to bursting at the seams within a couple of minutes - not a problem so don't be put off.
Be aware that all kids need to wear socks with rubberised soles for grip, if you don't have any you can buy at the ticket office for a couple of Euros.
A worthwhile visit to entertain your little ones.

Excellent for kids
Dec 2016 • Family
"La città dei bambini e dei ragazzi" is playground where kids can learn the principles of science while playing with different materials. Activities are divided into areas dedicated to age ranges, and are very interesting: children can build houses with foam bricks, explore real ants' nests, play with water, huge soap bubbles, mirrors, etc.
It is a nice idea for rainy and cold days.
This structure is hosted in the Magazzini del Cotone building, in the Porto Antico area.

Simple fun for a couple of hours

Nice break for kids if no better plans for the afternoon. Nothing spectacular, but some good scientific demos that the kids are sure to enjoy. We went with 3 kids ( age 7, 9 & 10). Not for older kids.

State of disrepair

Don't bother. Half the museum is broken, and there isn't much for kids to do. It's also very diifucult to find, although if you do succeed there is a parking lot close by.

Dear Customer, I'm really very sorry for your experience. Regular maintenance is made throughout the year and we made special efforts during the annual closing period (September 7-29, 2015). The attractions are very stressed by our young Guests, so it may occurs some temporary disfunction, that we try to address as soon as possible. I thank You for this feedback that motivates us to do better and better. I hope to welcome you at The Città dei bambini again in the near future. Best regards Alberto Cappato

A wondeful place for children 3+ yo

La città dei bambini (the city of children) is a very nice place located in the Porto Antico area of Genoa. It comprises 4-5 large rooms equipped with a number of exciting games for children of all ages, including a toy construction yard (including cranes, pulleys, and scaffoldings), water games, soap bubbles games, a glassbox living anthill, distorting mirrors, a free climbing wall, and a functional TV studio where children can make up their own newscast. I took there my 1.5yo daughter, and that's maybe a little too young: she enjoyed the visit but she could only look at most of the installments. If we visit Genoa again when she's a little bit older, we'll most definitely visit again.

Excellent time for both of our kids aged 5 and 11 years old , including us. Very nice and imaginitive stuff to do and you can always get the combined cheaper ticket to see the acquarium which was very good and the kids enjoyed it a lot. Place worth visiting definitely.

Fun for the 2-7 y.o. (and their dads!)
Apr 2014 • Family
I visited it in April 2014 with my 3yo little boy. If it is combined with a vist to the Acquarium nearby is absolutely Worth going. The little ones can have fun by plaiyg with crane, conveyor belts like in a real construction site. There are also games with water and air. For older children there are aslo some "games" teaching how to play with "physics"
