Good walk up for those that are somewhat fit and wish to get away from the crowds below. Many people do not wish to venture up the stairs which is their loss. Great views and great place to have a picnic on one of the...More

The castle is at the top of a steep staircase, but it is worth the climb for the views of the village. It was once part of a series of towers that were built along the coast to provide early warning of approaching pirates. It...More

The cost is 1,50 Euros to go up to the castle. You can't actually go inside of the castle (at least not when we went in October 2018), but it gave you a nice and different perspective of the ocean and city of Vernazza.

Short Climb from the main harbor of Vernazza to spectacular views of the Conque Terre area and Monterosso. There is a cash only fee (1.50 euro pp) to enter despite the Cinque Terre (train + land) pass

Great view up here, but the tiny castle was closed off, perhaps for repairs. You can't go up to the top of it. But the area around the castle is an amazing view for the sunset.

I visited Vernazza lasit month and the views from here are stunning. The entrance to the stairs to walk up are a little bit hidden (across from the square) and you're never sure you're going in the right direction (just follow the people), but when...More

You do get a nice view of the port and a section of the coast, BUT it is quite a climb. I don't think it was worth the 1,50 Euro entrance fee. When I was there the tower and a section of the deck was...More
