Worth the climb

The tower itself is quite uninspiring, but the views are very much worth the climb up. You can tie this in nicely with a trip to the Capuchin Monastery too.

This was really interesting and we would have missed it if we had taken the tunnel from the old town to the new town. There is an old nazi fortification "pill box" next to the tower. It is eerie, but you can go right in. Fascinating.

really people there is almost no climb to this tower. You need to walk upwards a bit and then downwards. It's even wheelchair/stroller accessible. You must be mistaken this with the trail that starts a bit farther away to Vernazza. Yes you have a nice view over the 'harbor' from here and it's nicer than walking through the tunnel to... More

This former defence tower is situated between the old and the new parts of the village and a tunnel takes the road behind the tower. The tower is now a private residence.

The walk was worth it - the views over the sea is beautiful. Enjoy the fresh air and pause often to drink in the beauty of the Liguarian seaside.

We loved this hike in the rain. Easy to get to with a neat view of the city. When your rained out of hiking the 5 towns this is a good option

Beautiful walk, lovely views. Especially if you are not planning to make the walks from town to town (we were only there 1.5 days), this is a nice walk instead. Huff and puff, but short.

Out of all the places I visited in Monterosso Al Mare this was my favorite view of the Ligurian Sea. There's a neat little window covered in bars that people attach there luggage locks to and some are quite old I thought that was pretty neat.

Lots of stairs, just remember that. However, the view is unparalleled and a much better way to get from Old Town to New Town. I cannot stress enough how spectacular the view is and how much you do not want to miss it!

Great view of the coastline from the top, if you don't mind a good climb to get there. Worth the trip to the top.
