We have had both an experience (pesto making class) and a fabulous meal here and cannot say enough good things about them and Yvonne and her team.

Our first meal in Manarola was here in the restaurant in the garden under the lemon trees. With help from the staff, we selected a focaccia for two with two different toppings. Half very traditional Ligurian (pesto, potato, and green bean) and the other half also very local (mussels, fresh tomatoes, and lemon). It was heavenly. We've never tasted focaccia that was so light and airy and flavorful. We avoid it in the US because it's nearly always doughy, thick, and without much taste. What we ate at A Pie de Campu was among the best things I've ever eaten.

We paired our meal with a sampling of three local white wines which Yvonne explained to us. They were quite varied and gave us a solid (and tasty) overview of the wines of Cinque Terre.

This morning we went back to A Pie de Campu and spent an hour learning to make pesto. We were lucky enough to have Yvonne all to ourselves. We learned a lot about the history of the ingredients -- and the qualities to look for in the garlic, basil, garlic, and pine nuts when we try to replicate this at home. It was an enormously enjoyable and intimate hour and a memory we will cherish.

And tonight, our last night in Cinque Terre, we're going back for dinner with friends we made the other day.

This place was recommended to us by our hotel host in Manarola - he said it was the best focaccia in Cinque Terre and it certainly did not disappoint!

We made a reservation in advance and were seated in a lovely outdoor terrace among lemon trees. We were brought a large chalkboard that listed the daily focaccia's and our server recommended a great local white wine to go with it. The focaccia was AMAZING and large - one was enough for the two of us! I highly recommend the pesto, I couldn't get enough of it!

This was the only place for dinner open in Manarola in a January, but it is very good indeed.

Menu was simple, just a couple of entrees and one main course. The focaccia is excellent. Service was attentive. Prices reasonable. Selection of wines was ok. In high season, reservations are a must.

It is located clase to the end of the town, when the road starts to go up towards the hills, and that gives the name of the place. Recommended.

We had an unbelievable pasta making class at A pie de Campu with chef Luca. His passion for cooking and all the Ligurian specialties was infectious. We have since had friends over and are making pasta at home!

Lovely garden with gorgeous lemon trees. The focaccia is the best we tasted the whole weekend. Home-made pesto and locally-grown veggies make everything taste better

It was by far the best foccaccia I’ve ever had in my life! If you’re visiting Manarola, eating here is a MUST!!
Went there twice during my stay! La Foccaccia al pesto and the Nutella one for dessert are highly recommended!!!

It can get very busy so booking in advance is advisable!

Knowledgeable tour guide, sampled three local white wines. Learned a lot about the local wine industry and history. Our tour guide was a local and her family had been making wine for many years.

Afterwards we walked through the vineyards and got some amazing views.

It was a good experience. Highly recommend.

A Pie de Campu was recommended to me by my Airbnb host. We went our last night in Manarola and it was simply wonderful. The food, the ambiance and the kind staff were top notch. I only wish I'd had more time to take the pesto class! The focaccia was the best I have ever had in my life! This is a must if you are in the area.

Our Voyager Trips tour guide, Erica, ended our trek with a stop at this terrific spot for a wine tasting of several local wines. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of Cinque Terre wine making and current local wines. Gave us a taste a 4 white wines and great homemade foccacia. Ended up purchasing a bottle of Sciacchetra produced in Riommaggiore. Would highly recommend making this part of your Cinque Terre adventure -- nice and quiet way to wrap up away from the crowded tourist area!

Our win tasting experience was delightful. Our guide gave us a fantastic history lesson on the region, and we found the wine selections to be very interesting and tasty. One wine was possibly the most interesting wine I can remember tasting. The walk to the grapes afterwards was very cool and provided some amazing views of the area. I would highly recommend this experience.
