Feels very authentic and relaxed, lots of nice bars and beautiful streets nearby. We came in the winter and they had little Christmas market stalls but nothing big.

Even in wintertime, you can sit outside in one of the nice bars and enjoy your tee, grape or aperol. During the day, when the sun is out, it's beautiful. In the evening, life is just around the corner

Piazza Matteotti, or Piazza San Giacomo as every Udinese calls it, is a very nice and elegant square in the center, very close to via Mercatovecchio, piazza Libertà and the Loggia del Lionello. In the mornings usually there is a flower market, but actually it is a wonderful place in the evening for dining out (all around the square and in the surroundings there are many bars and restaurants), watching people strolling around the Renaissance fountain and under the porches.

A very harmonious square with quite beautiful arched buildings surrounding it. It’s probably one of the busiest squares in the city with many bars and restaurants - a good place for eating and drinking while watching the people’s movement. On one of the square’s laterals give attention to Chiesa San Giacomo with a balcony over the entrance which was used for camp masses. Enjoy!
