A super way to spend a few hours, one of the least “touristy” places I have been to visit. Very few people here on a Sunday and a good chance to share in some of the local history

On the slope of San Giusto above the Scala Dei Giganti is the Park of Remembrance, dedicated to the fallen in all wars, the park made its formal beginning on May 24, 1926. The park is not particularly attractive or well kept park but it is a green space near to the busy Historical city centre, a quiet place. We noticed on rocks in a garden to the side of the Scalinata (staircase) leading up to the obelisk fountain, the name of soldiers. Beyond the park is the Castle of San Giusto.

This is a small park with an eclectic grouping of Roman ruins and some more modern statues to fallen soldiers. It's easily combined with a visit to the castello and the nearby church of San Giusto.

A magnificent open space atop the San Giusto hill flanked by the castle, the cathedral and the city below.

we found this by pure chance as we were walking around looking at the shops. It is quite imposing standing at the top of a very steep set of steps, that go over one of the most ornate road bridges I have seen. It is well worth a visit, but be warned. The numerous steps will take it out of you, but at the top, you come into the gardens, which are so peaceful and quiet, it is well worth it. From there, you can walk up to the Ccathedral of San Giusto, which is also a must

We saw this by chance from the bottom of the road by McDonalds. It sits above the most elaborate road bridge I've seen and we walked up the steep steps and headed toward the fountain at the top. The park features memorial stones to the fallen and by the tall fountain are very good views of that side of the city. We actually took our shoes of on that very hot day and dipped our feet in. Very refreshing. There's also a small children's 'swing park' between the fountain and the castle/basilica/convent/cathedral at the very peak behind it.

Very good and rather large park on the outskirts of the city centre.
Quite good for taking relaxing stroll in the evening when humidity in the city gets overwhelming.

A very interesting park - the names of the soldiers fallen in various wars are written on separate blocks of stone all over the park.
It is a nice place to visit if you don't mind walking uphill.

Simple but beautiful park next to the Cathedral and the Castle of Trieste. You can see the remains of the previous early Christian basilica and it is interesting to spend time there.
