It’s a bit of a hike from the bus stop, but SO worth it. The grounds are amazing- it wasn’t terribly crowded and we were able to take our time and enjoy the interiors

I thought it would be one of just castle I would walk around for 10 min. It was one of the most amazing castle because it’s right at the sea with ‘forgetting everything and time’ kind of view. Lovely park with hiking trail type surroundings...More

This beautiful castle is filled with historical enchanting artifacts, as well as the beautiful setting on a bluff on the Adriatic Sea. Stroll the gardens and stay for the summer evening light show that tells the story of Maximillian and Carlota of Mexico, Napoleons involvement...More

The duke never got to enjoy the view as politics beckoned. He became the ill-fated Emperor of Mexico, a job that ended when he was murdered by a populist junta.

A white chateau above the azure sea level surrounded by gardens. A great place for a romantic walk in two.
