Lovely for cycling, walking, sunbathing

Dont' miss Barcola if you're in TS. Take a walk, or cycle down to the Castello di Miramar. Five miles or so from there back to the centre of TS.

Coming from the province and get to Trieste by the "coastal", Barcola is a myth for both the sea and the close relation to the level of the same, and because in the summer you can see many swimmers from the morning. The main attraction are the topless young ladies strolling on the pedestrian and are davvedo a huge distraction... More

People tend to go there to sunbathe as if it was a beach. It's actually more of a promenade sort of thing by the sea, but there are lots of people just sunbathing on the concrete walk. It'd be much a nicer walk if it wasn't packed with half naked sweaty people.

If you are coming with children go somewhere else as this place is totally unfriendly to kids. There is no way to enter the water except a few metal stairs which are overcrowded, everything else is just rocks and stones.

Great way to spend a sunny day or part. The locals swarmed down early evening to swim, socialise eat and drink. You can watch racing snake cyclists whiz past on the climb up the hill and take in views of the city across the bay

It's not a place to spend a week's holiday, but it's OK for a short stay. The beach is very close a very bus road, but the hedges make it quite pleasant, and if you come early you can even find a place in the shade of one of the pine trees.

Parking is free, and that is the best I can say about this place. Went on a Saturday, and there were pot bellied men strolling round and many women sun bathing. There is no beach just the possibility to bathe in the pebbled waters. There is a flea market alongside, and not much else.

small port(fish nets and small fishing boats give an old aspect to it), large park just meters near the Adriatic, gelato, gelato everywhere on the peer and a good place to show your swimming suit. if you wanna take a long walk along the peer you will reach the magnificent Miramare Castle which you will never forget. in the small... there's no such thing as a nice stroll along the seaside. The most peculiar "beach" you'll ever see from the first to the last sunny day. Triestini sunbathe under the mediterranean pine trees but.. what? all along the pavement. Sun beds or just towels. Camping tables and chairs to play cards in the sun.
