This commemorative bust was inaugurated July 31, 1882 and sits in Piazza Garibaldi overlooking a small bed of flowers. The bust sits atop a plinth with a bronze plaque with the inauguration date and the dedication message.

The marble bust of Giuseppe Garibaldi, the famous Italian general and politician, was designed by Stefano Galletti and introduced in 1882, as the first monument erected to celebrate the “Hero of the Two Worlds” in the country. We visited this statute on our guided tour but I was honestly so overwhelmed by the beauty of San Marino that I was inattentive to the lecture about Garibaldi.

Nice monument to a great historical character, Fits well into the historic city-state of San Marino. Very nice stop when walking the streets of San Marino.

Also this is a fine famed landmark. From here you can go down to the Piazza della Liberta or up to the towers. Behind there is an interesting building. Garibaldi is celebrated here as one who permitted San Marino to stay out from the unification movement. Great
