This square with Gotico palace in the mjddle and two horses on both sides is very nice, but unfortunately in time of our visit a market was going on and a lot of vans parked around the square, so we couldn't see it in all its beauty.

This is a great square, often with many actives centred around at different times of the year. It is surrounded by some very good bars, too - these encourage the social life around the square.

It's very a very picturesque square especially on a beautiful day. Piacenza is a pretty, small town and the square is the most central point. There are some bars around it and I imagine it's quite animated in summer.

This square is a beautiful space, and is a centre for many activities and events. There is a market on Saturdays, and a Christmas Market in December. There is a great bar on one corner with tables outside, which is very popular in the evenings, and offers a great place to watch Piacenza walk or cycle past.

Beautiful somewhat gothic architecture that is very well preserved and it is so interesting to look at the incredible detail, different on every single building.

Piazza dei Cavalli was originally Piazza Grande but the former name took over with the arrival of the Farnese Equestrian monuments. Piacenza is a historic centre, named Placentia in 218 B.C., (it raises the question about whether or not the birthplace of Henry VIII, Elizabeth I & her sister Mary-Greenwich Palace Placentia-was named after this town). But what is for... More

Verry beatiful piazza (market) especialy when the sun shines. Lot of old historic monuments. Nice to sit at a terrace and have a cappucino.

The fine square fronting the lovely medieval Palazzo Gotico has two fine equestrian bronze statues of a Farnese father and son, hence the reference to horses in its name. It becomes the market square twice weekly, hosts various events such as a recent fun day for children, also open air concerts. The Tourist Office is to one side and the... More

Piazza Cavalli is the central square of Piacenza, where the city hall is located. It's a nice place to visit, especially when there is an open air market. near by there are many nice small coffee shops and restaurants, ahere one can have Italian coffee or taste excellent Italian food.

Went to Piacenza for a day in mid-December and this was a lovely little stroll. There was a Christmas market set up and it was an easy place to browse for gifts and such. The square itself is very pretty, although it's even better in the evening when the lights are on. It didn't strike me as a place to... More
