I would love to have met Ricci Oddi. I think he would have been fascinating and a good friend for an artist to have. Other reviewers do better than I can at explaining this important collection. On top of this is the stunning gallery itself and the sensitivity in hanging each work well. The size is perfect too so often I am exhausted by a huge gallery or lose concentration half way through. This gallery should be an exemplar for how to present art artfully.

This is something of a hidden gem, and would receive much more attention was it located in more popular city like Milan or Bologna, or even Parma.

The collection is incredibly relevant, including stand out works from all the most important currents of Italian modern art as well as some from further afield. A number or works from local artist is bound to be something of a revelation for most (Bruzzi was perhaps the one that captured my attention the most).

Beutifully hung and captioned, it offers an insightful and plain beautiful tour of art from Hayez all the way to WWII, and all for a mere 5€. Not to be missed if in Piacenza.

If you would like an overview about the Italian pre and post-impressionism, you will find it here. The gallery is wonderful, not only the paintings, but the building itself too. Congratulation!

This is a review of the 2022 Klimt exhibition.
First, I bought tickets online at a premium. The electronic ticket is not valid for entry. It is necessary to queue for a paper ticket in order to allow the gatekeeper to tear off the stub. I kid you not. Apparently global warming doesn’t apply here.
Second, this isn’t an exhibition of Gustav Klimt art. Although Klimt has more art on display than any other artist, works by him are not even in the majority.
In fact this is an exhibition of Viennese Secession art. In fairness it is very good, but sold under a false prospectus.

Ricci Oddi is a Modern Art Gallery and also a home for Gustav Klimt's Portrait of a Lady. The painting which was stolen in late 1990's and found in 2019. There is a short video about the theft and how the painting was found.

It is mostly one man's Giuseppe Ricci Oddi's collection of hundreds of works by Italian modern artist from different regions from the 19th and early 20th centuries. There is 19 different rooms and the art is mostly organized by region - some painters have a room of their own.

I am not an expert of Italian modern art so most of the painters were new to me. I think it was a very nice collection, and if you like art, you like this collection.
Tickets for four were 32 euros and it takes 1–2 hours. I recommend.

The halls of the Gallery are dedicated to the regional schools and to the movements :(novecento italiano, symbolism),however, particular areas are dedicated to the most loved artists. The interior of the Gallery is fascinating!!

Excellent gallery with some lovely pictures by 19th and 20th century Italians all beautifully displayed in large, well-lit rooms. Well worth the visit.

This is a nice way to spend an hour. It is mostly a collection of art that one man bought, and while interesting, it is not a show stopper! That said, I did enjoy myself.

a stupendous modern art gallery thanks to an enlightened patron and collector who built it to house a fantastic collection of works of art that will excite not only connoisseurs or lovers of modern art, but anyone with a sensitivity for beauty. there's no point in going further, any description would be reductive: go there! only one small flaw: when we visited it, its highlight (Klimt's Portrait of a Lady) and some other works were absent because they were on loan to other temporary exhibitions, which is another reason to return on our next visit to the city, but not enough not to have been equally enthusiastic about the visit.

an absolute must for lovers of modern art: the splendid gallery thanks to the patronage of an enlightened collector is simply exciting for those who know and want to linger on the incredible quantity and variety of works collected and shown there. even though when we visited it, its piece de resistance (Klimt's portrait of a lady) and some other works were missing, because they were on loan to various exhibitions.
