If you want to visit Parma and experience everything this wonderful town has to offer you must do it with Michelle! Her depth of knowledge on food, history and art is incomparable and along with that she is extremely charismatic and fun to be with!
My husband and I and a college friend of ours toured for two days with Michelle and left Parma feeling as passionate about it as she is. Our first day was a "day for foodies" and included visiting a parmeggiano reggiano dairy and watching close up the cheese being made and tasting the incredible finished product as well as meeting the cheese master. We then ventured to an acetaia and learned about the production of balsamic vinegar with the owner who treated us to an amazing tasting of his product. This was followed by a delicious lunch at a beautiful mountain top agriturismo overlooking the valley. And finally one more unforgettable visit to a producer of prosciutto di Parma. Fantastic experience and wonderful tasting of meat and wine.
Day 2 with Michelle was a walking tour of the center of Parma where we soaked in all the history, art and culture of the area. The only way to truly "see" a place is to walk it with an expert. Parma is a beautiful village that you can only 'skim" on your own. Michelle walked us through all the most beautiful and interesting sites and relayed interesting information on everything we were seeing. It was an unforgettable day.

I stumbled upon Artemilia when searching for tasting experience. In a short time Michelle prepared a fantastic tour for our group: getting to know the production and tasting of Parmigiano Reggiano at Villa Aiola, followed by pasta cooking class at Barbaterre and tasting of traditional Balsamic Vinegar at Acetaia Picci for the end. Rich and eventfull day for all of us. And Michelle, your knowledge and tasting guidance are exceptional. Thanks again!

Business trip with guided tour of Torrechiara Castle organized with Artemilia. All perfect. Both in the organization of the trip: speed and efficiency in providing the requested service, and in the visit to the Castle. Our guide, Barbara, guided us around the Castle, telling us its history and curiosities. We were very happy and recommend Artemilia for their services.

The tour was great, really crazy. I think it was one of the best tours I've ever done both in Italy and abroad. The level of detail and Roberta s patience to answer all the questions we asked her made the experience fantastic!

Michelle was our guide and she was wonderful. She knows Parma through and through. She is passionate to introduce the factories and the town to us. On top of all these, Michelle is a pleasant and interesting person to travel with. My friends and I had great joy joining her food tour. We will definitely join her tours again when we come back to the area.

Excellent tour.
We had a morning in Parmigiano-Reggiani factory. It's was great. Amazing and informative to see the cheese making in progress. The salting room, nurturies and maturing caves. We got lucky a had a chance to taste Fresh Ricotta cheese 😊 it's not made every day.
Afternoon in Antica Corte Pallavicina ... The Culatello museum. We got to find out about the history of the castle, region, black pigs, culatello and the Maestro Guiseppe Verdi. It's located in beside Po river in secluded fairy tale location.
We got to taste all the cheese's, meats and salami.
Thank you Michelle we couldn't think of better tour.

We were recommended by a friend to experience the Emilia Romagna region with a guided tour by Artemilia. We took a private tour (two couples) led by Michelle Costa. The entire experience was perfect. We visited a Parmigiano Reggiano plant, a Balsamic Vinegar vineyard, and a Prosciutto facility as well as a wonderful hosted lunch in the countryside. I have gone on many tours, what made this one special was Michelle. Her love for the region, the people, and frankly us - made us feel so welcome and relaxed. You could tell the affection all the locals that knew her greeted her with. We laughed, learned, shared stories - really felt like we internalized the pulse of the region - not just a bunch a facts. She also was genuinely interested in us and on the fly customized the tour/conversation to our areas of interest. The booking and logistics were so easy and she is so accessible on What's App. I still say hello to her on occasion.

So in this time of Covid19, when you feel comfortable traveling again, please do yourself a favor and not only support this region that is dependent on travel (and is so welcoming to travelers) - but do yourself a favor and spend a day on a Artemilia Guided Tour - and I am sure all the Tour Guides are great, but I know Michelle is special. The four of us certainly hope to go back soon and no doubt she will be our first call. . . . Ciao

This review is delayed from my trip in October. This was my first time visiting this area, and Michelle was so incredible! As a solo traveller, I knew I didn't want to rent a car, but wanted to see some of the surrounding area of Parma. Before leaving the US, I'd booked my full-day tour with Michelle. My plan had been to take the train from Bologna to Parma for my stay up there. I decided that I'd love to see Modena in between so I reached out to Michelle to inquire if she knew of a car service that might be able to do that. She arranged the entire day for me! It was incredible! I saw everything I wanted to and was then dropped at my hotel in Parma. The next day Michelle and the same driver picked me up in the morning at my hotel and we went out for the most magical day at a parmesan cheese maker, a balsamic vinegar producer, an incredible lunch on top of the hillside, and a prosciutto ham producer. I learned SOOO much from Michelle it was amazing. I felt so relaxed and had such a lovely time with her. The next day as I was wandering around Parma, I reached out to Michelle yet again to see if the same driver might be able to transport me to Lake Como so that I could see sites along the way (versus the train as I'd originally planned). She arranged another fabulous day of seeing lots of things... castles... lunch at a local restaurant... small towns... during a beautiful drive to my hotel on Lake Como. Throw into the mix that I'd come down with a bad chest cold in Parma, so she instructed the driver (who didn't speak alot of english) to stop at a pharmacy on the way to Lake Como and help me get the cough syrup I needed. She was texting me pictures of the type to get so that there was no issue! It was truly incredible service on all accounts. I would highly recommend Michelle and her knowledge and customer service for a memorable trip in this area. It was a big highlight for me during my 35 day travels!!

I booked a tour with Michelle based on TA reviews. My husband and I hate touring with large groups so touring with Michelle was perfect. She met us at our B&B today at 8 am and she drove with us. Like the other reviews, we spent about 2 hours at the cheese factory, then the lovely home of Marco the balsamico wizard, then a wonderful winery lunch, then the Prosciutto di Parma factory.
First of all, this is a must do tour. We learned so much about the area, and about these 3 important delicacies of the region. Fascinating!!

It’s a whole new world when I get home and grate my cheese on my pasta.
Secondly, Michelle is full of energy and she was born here so knows everything. She has cultivated relationships with responsible producers, and all the people at the facilities were great. I know they see tourists all the time but we felt special.
So forget Tastybus 😢and ride with Michelle. Today was the highlight of our trip.
Thanks Michelle.
