We were very happy with our tour of Parma and Modena. Simonetta was very knowledgeable and explained the parmigiano and prosciutto processes in great detail. Our group of four was very comfortable in the private van, and able to see each factory as a private tour. The lunch was one of the best meals we had in Italy! Our driver Guido was very accommodative and dropped us off at the train station on time. I highly recommend this tour!

After watching the Stanley Tucci's: Searching for Italy, Bologna episode, I had to experience this for myself during our trip to Italy. Our group of 5 booked a private tour with Food Valley to visit the Parma producers of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, Prosciutto di Parma and Balsamic Vinegar. It was a fascinating tour. Our guide, Alicia, was passionate about the process and the food, and clearly loves what she does. She was fantastic! Each factory tour ended with a tasting and a new appreciation for the traditional methods of producing these special foods. Our tour also included lunch at a beautiful castle on a hill. We enjoyed prosciutto, fresh pastas, wine, desserts and espresso. Thank you to Food Valley for a quality experience that was a highlight of our trip!

We enjoyed our day exploring the foods of Emilia Romagna with Michelle. Seeing the processing steps for making the lovely parmesan cheese and Parma ham was so interesting and the tastings were delicious! Our lunch was great too. The last stop to learn about making balsamic vinegar was interesting too! Such a fun day.

Wonderful experience meeting with small local producers. We learned a lot at each tour about the making of each product. My fav was meeting with one of the owners of a 100+ year old family owned balsamic vinegar producers. My husband and I both loved the generous lunch at the end—wine, parmigiana, balsamic vinegar, prosciutto plus treats and espresso.

It was sooo great. We had an opportunity to see people at work, respect the tradition. We saw every step of making Parmiggiano Reggiano and Parma Ham. It was very interesting and high quality. Our guide Monica was a great expert and very kind and lovely person. Thank you for such a great day. If you want to have a great experience of that region of Italy – you should totally take a part in that trip.
