About Agricola Giansanti
Have you ever dreamt of seeing a true barn and all the Parmigiano cheese making? Well, just outside Parma city-centre, on the road leading to the hills of Traversetolo, since 1950 we are hand-crafting Parmigiano Reggiano cheese everyday, from raw material (the milk of our cows) to the Parmigiano cheese. We are the only company in Parma, where you can see in the same place the farm and the cheese factory in the same time! Our Parmigiano Reggiano is so unique that we have won a lot of international prizes, such as the 2014 World Cheese Award and the 2016 Alma Caseus Gold Medal... Come and enjoy an English speaking guide and cheese tasting in our factory!

Eventhough I was the only one who had booked the tour on this morning, I received the complete tour. I was able to see the process of the parmegiano making as well as a lovely tasting. The staff took its time to answer all my questions, which were quite a few. I can definitely recommend the experience. It should be a must do during your journey through this beautiful and tasty region of Italy.

We were granted a full tour of the cheese making process conducted by our tour guide, Layla, today and we were extremely satisfied with our experience! She was very knowledgeable of the product and process and answered all of our questions thoroughly. The cheese tasting at the end was the icing on the cake! This is a special farm creating a special product and you can tell that the entire crew (who were all very friendly) take pride in their work! Extremely great value! The fact that the farm and factory are just right off of the Traversetolo bus stop on the 11 line makes this experience convenient and affordable for travelers like ourselves on a budget. (Also the 1/4 kilo of cheese we purchased after the tour is already gone from just one meal, delicious!)

An artisanal Parmesan tour with close up of all the action. U can view from the cows to the vat to the salting and the final drying step. U get a tasting at the end of it. Thé whole process is very well explained by our tour guide,Layla. The kids enjoyed it tremendously . One of the best we had been and we had been to several factories in Switzerland:)

We booked our tour quite last minute, which was no problem for them. Our guide was very welcoming and knew everything about the entire process, even our chemical questions. We definitely recommend Agricola Giansanti if you want to learn more about Parmigiano reggiano!

We were very lucky to have chosen this small cheese factory for a tour. We could experience the whole process of traditional cheese making and it was well worth it. Thanks to the friendly staff we had a private tour in english. Graziemille!!
