It is tucked into a niche in the corner of a building on Piazza Grande where via Castellaro enters. It depicts a woman dressed in a simple medieval costume, with a long braid of flowing hair on the shoulder.
The Bonissima is dated from the XII to XIII century. Its actual date of origin is unknown.

According to the information the statue should be the symbol for the women is Modena, who was very kind. Unfortunately we didn't get more information, but the statue itself is nice.

It is one of the symbols of the city, much loved by the people of Modena, but who sculpted it and what it represents still remains a mystery. There are various hypotheses, the most plausible one is linked to the legend of a noblewoman who helped the people during a period of famine, who began to call her "very good" to celebrate her goodness. It is located in a corner of the Town Hall, from where it looks down on inhabitants and tourists walking between Piazza Grande and Via Cavallaro.

In Piazza Grande, on a corner of the town hall, you can see this small statue of a woman. It was never ascertained who he really was and there are various legends about him. Legends aside, it is a statue that dates back to the twelfth century and one of the icons of the city. It deserves at least a curious look when passing through the square.
