From regaling us with the history of the family who founded these balsamic vinegars of Modena to sampling key highlights, Emanuela conducted the tasting tour very proficiently. She was very helpful with customers (being at least trilingual) in how to order the product to where to eat the local delicacies all over Modena. Highly recommend this experience with Acetaia Giusti 1605. I must add they were very responsive with email in arranging the tour so well done!!

We arrived at Acetaia Giusti and were warmly welcomed by Giulia.
Without hesitation she showed us around this real old Acetaia (since 1605 family run in the 17. generation) and explained in detail and with a lot of passion the secrets of this Aceito Balsamico.
We would recommend a visit to anyone who is near this region. It’s absolutely worth going there!!!

Lovely little museum, shows history of family of producers and the balsamic vinegar is made, with tour around storage barrels area. Then to the tasting. Tasted a big selection of various ages and pedigrees which really helped me understand the subtle differences. Very worthwhile trip, just wish I could have brought more home. Plus they provided a gorgeous pannetone for us to share.

Had a wonderful experience taking the tour Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and guided us through the tasting deftly. The vinegars themselves are exceptional, both in their variety and consistently amazing taste. You will undoubtedly buy some to take home, but absolutely no pressure to the tasting. They also have a store in Modena if you want to buy more.

What a lovely way to learn more about balsamico in the heart of Modena! I didn't realize that we needed to make reservations to visit until the night before we were planning to be there. Anita kindly responded to my email early the next morning with the information for the tour we could join. Unfortunately, i didn't see the email, but we showed up and walked around the museum for a few minutes. There was a tour in progress and Giulia, the tour guide, graciously invited us to join.

We still managed to learn quite a lot on our abbreviated tour and Giulia answered all of our questions and was so patient and informative. We got to try nearly everything that they make and there was no pressure at all to buy anything (but of course we left with several bottles for gifts).

I really recommend the visit because the tour and tasting were complimentary but terrific quality! Thanks again, Giulia and Anita!

A great experience! Giulia gave us a guided tour far beyond our expectations. It was very interesting to hear the story about Giuseppe Giusti and the process of producing balsamico, followed by a tasting. We recommend this strongly.

As if being at the oldest producer of balsamic vinegar (established in 1605), sampling their 100-year old product wasn't enough of a treat, our guide Eleonora gave us a fantastic tour of the facility. Eleonora is most instructive about the origin of balsamic vinegar and the development of this artisanal industry.

We have visit this place after visiting local parmigiano reggiano factory nearby (4 Madonne). I was not sure what to expect, but as it was near by and I'm quite a fan of aceto balsamico we decided to check it out. It turned out to be one of the best highlights of our trip. During the tour we visited local museum, where we heard about basic process and history of manufacturing aceto balsamico - very detailed and informative. Then we went into aging rooms with barrels full of aceto at different stages of production. We were even allowed to open the hatches on the barrels and look & smell aceto.

After that, tasting session was in place, were we could taste more then 10 types of aceto balsamico, ranging from young ones the oldest ones + the ones infused with truffles, raspberries and figs. It was beyond anything I was expecting - such tastes, yummy :)

There is also local shop where you can buy all those products - there prices are ranging from very moderte (1 medal aceto) to very expensive (5 medal aceto), but in any case everybody can find something affordable.

If you are in Modena, be sure not to miss this place - put it on the top of the list!

P.S. the best part is that tour and tasting session was free of charge!

If anyone is ever in the Modena area a visit to Acetaia Giuseppe Giusti is a must ( pun intended). The setting is beautiful, the people are great and the products are delicious. Our host was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the history of Giuseppi Giusti and the process of making Aceto Balsamico. The tasting portion of the tour included a generous variety of vinegars.
