I enjoyed spending time here as part of exploring Modena as I was just leisurely spending some time. I did not make use of a tour guide but still enjoyed the visit.

Beautiful to behold from the outside as you stroll throughout the historic city center, the old building interior has been now converted to mundane modern offices.

Home of the Ducale Palace, a magnificent building which is still in use today as a college, in the palazzo there are many places to sit, relax and have a drink or a snack, there are also many shops to window shop

The building is gorgeous, topped with loads of statuary, and fronted by what is now a large piazza with a couple of fountains and a reflecting pool. If you call ahead you can get a tour on the weekends. But if that doesn't fit with...More

Amazed with the beauty of this place. Really a must watch if you are in Modena. There are cafeterias and pizzerias nearby and a lot of shops for shopping. It's a crowded place on a holiday but a good one to go on a day...More

Wandered through here on way back to station. Fantastic architecture and fountains in middle of square. Worth a visit

I would recommend going to the Estense art gallery and also a visit to the Palazzo Ducale. The art gallery displays well-known painters and also lesser known local masters.

Palazzo Ducale is pompous, noble and majestic baroque building from 17C with honour court. Today is occopied by the Military accademy and I had a privilegge to see them at the morning report.
