A lovely piazza in a lovely town! We really enjoyed our day trip and would not hesitate to return to spend a bit longer.

As all Piazzas it is a lovely big square but not overly crowded. The are some lovely Cafes on the edges which is great for a drink and people watching, Offers nice views of the Duomo

Just another large square with some antique markets and a few average cafe bars scattered about.. Ticked off the list but nothing shouts out to return.

If you have been in the big squares of other old cities in Europe you know they can become highly commercial. Not so for this main square of Modena. You still get a feel that it's "real" and for the residents. Lovely place to chill out with I a glass of wine or a coffee.

We had the good fortune to stay just a little bit off of Piazza Grande, so we walked through it many times while exploring Modena. Beautiful, historic space and surrounding buildings and buzzing cafes, but at no time was it oppressively crowded. One evening we stopped as we were walking back from dinner, sat on a bench and just enjoyed... More

You won't miss it if you are in town because the Modena life is evolving in it every day. All around it there are restaus and bars and shops. Go there for a very nice past time from the afternoon until the evening or even later.

Piazza Grande captures one's imagination with the sparkling brightness of the Cathedral, the Ghirlandina bell tower and the austerity of the Town Hall. It is a masterpiece of Italian town planning.

This is landmark building of Old Modena square. It is rich in history. Though I could not read the details which are written in Italian, but what I found that this building is a central place for visitors and also to the locals with many restourents all around this building

Modena is worth a visit for its cathedral. Then when you are here you may discover the excellent local food and the local "dolce vita" style. if you want to visit the cathedral you cannot avoid to stand in piazza Grande and watch around. This was the place where the market was made on daily basis and in the abside... More
