This was a stop on our all day food tour. Didn't quite know what to expect and it exceeded our expectations. It was very educational and interesting to taste the vinegars. Opportunity to purchase also and highly recommend buying the 25 yrs. aged balsamic at only 75 euro - local prices here in the $200-300 range for similar.

Difficult to find, even when you are in the right road but well worth the effort. The talk was extremely informative about the difference between "Traditional balsamic vinegar" which can only be made in the area from grapes grown in the area and "balsamic vinegar of Modena" which can originate from anywhere as long as one process happened in Modena.... Today on our yearly trip to Verona and it's outdoor opera we have learnt something new. We went down to Modena and Villa San Donnino where we joined a tour. A true balsamico of Modena is made of Trebbiano / Lambrusco grapes and never younger than 12 years. I highly recommend everyone that have time and are nearby to visit.... More

We visited villa San Donino to learn about the making of the famous Acetico Balsamico. Tour was informative and interesting. The location is beautiful, as is the way to get there. We learned a lot about balsamic vinegar!

A very informative and well laid out tour of the acetaia. A lovely experience, a detailed explanation of how balsamic is made, the different qualities / varieties. We also tasted balsamic from 6 years to over 24 years ... Amazing Not to forget the ice cream with Balsamic which they served us.... A first time for me .... It was... More

Our driver / guide Pietro took us by for a tour. Very interesting tour and very informative! Tasty balsamic that the owners clearly are very proud of and they produce a high quality product! Thank you for letting us pop in!

I visited Acetaia Villa San Donnino the summer of 2016 while studying abroad in Italy with some classmates. We learned so much about the difference between commercial balsamic and traditional balsamic. I actually ended up writing my final paper about our experience and about the importance of understanding the difference and what makes traditional balsamic traditional. I would recommend this... I went with a tour group of mostly older high schoolers and college students, plus a few parents/ teachers. We all had a blast! Davide was so nice, the balsamic was amazing, and I learned so much! Not sure if it was a deal with my tour group or what, but we paid very little for such a fun tour!

My husband and I were one of 4 couples visiting Bologna and we each had a day to organise something. I got really lucky and was given a day in Modena. Whilst looking for places to visit I happened to see the reviews for the Villa San Donnino. It all looked very positive and so I emailed Davide Lonardi to... More
