About
Production of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena and Balsamic Condiment. The Villa of Vinegar in Modena On March 14th 1910 the project of the Villa was submitted on behalf of Lieutenant Claudio San Donnino. It was later to become an exquisite example of Emilia Romagna "liberty". Frescoes and decorations by Aroldo Bonzaghi (1887-1918) with evocative and voluptuous "dannunzian" allegories generate a magical atmosphere. In that extraordinary place, Davide and Cristina invite you to taste special products of Villa San Donnino.

Life time experince
May 2021
The place was beautiful and mostly the owner was very kind hearted and welcomed us. He described us about the Traditional Balsamic vinegar of Modena. We tasted different vinegar according to the years required to manufacture them and they tasted perfect. Very raw , natural and perfect taste of the vinegar. We were so happy that we visited this place and the owner treated us very very good. You will rarely receive these kind of welcome from somebody. And while returning it was raining, he was so kind that he gave us a lift in his car twice to the nearest bus station which was about 30 mins of walk. I want to thank him for his all kindness.
Lots of Love from Nepal.

Must visit place
May 2021
This is an amazing place with a long history behind the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar. It was a wonderful experience, tasting the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar that started fermentation even before you born. Davide very humble and courteous humankind I've met in Italy. You will definitely love his hospitality. This is the must-visit place in Modena. For me, it's a lifetime experience. Thank you, Davide!

Great tour

We called and rocked up 40 minutes later to be told everything we could absorb about the production of aceto balsámico. Then we got a taste testing of all the different treats. All in a very friendly and competent way. Highly recommended

An amazing place, beautiful grounds and lovely instructor.
My wife and I enjoyed our visit to the Acetaia. The lady who described the process was very informative and funny.
The tasting was also very good and it was interesting to taste the difference between the years.

Very pitoresque situated,in the sorroundings of Modena. The young lady presenting is very competent and motivated. It was a real lesson about what balsamic vinegar is, production, technology, marketing, and of course tasting..Ive learned how to impair balsamic vinegar with food and desserts, fruits etc. What you will taste is not the balsamic vnegar you might meet in supermarket but the essence of the essence. As a french might say-cremme de la cremme.

Great tour of the factory that makes the delicious and unique balsamic vinegar. Looked at all the storage facilities, got an explanation of how complicated a process it is to make this vinegar and got a taste of balsamic vinegar over gelato. Amazing. We also got an exclusive tour of the owner’s home.

Dropped to have a end of the day Balsmic tasting. Learned about what we were tasting. Incredible to have Balsamic over vanilla gelato! Absolutely wonderful. As we were leaving had a chance encounter with the owner! Real people with a passion for their product and history of their life!

All you need to know about balsamic vinegar.
Sep 2019
Very informative presentation by Franchesca which explained the production and categorisation process of their authentic DOP products. We got to taste different ages of balsamic vinegar. Most certainly a better quality than you buy in your local supermarket. We were staying in Bologna so had to get the train and then taxi, but worth the effort. Visit was by appointment but no charge. Only one other couple present so plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
