Overview
Bologna is home to one of the best cuisines in Italy—where favorites like tortellini and were created—but it can be a challenge for travelers to find down-to-earth meals in the restaurant circuit.  With this tour, a guide takes you to at least half a dozen restaurants and cafes serving dishes away from the tourists. It’s an immersion in local gastronomy with pasta, salumi, pizza, wine, and gelato.

My wife and I had a wonderful time with Mattia during our food tour in Bologna. It was our first food tour and a perfect way us to get to know Bologna and its culinary delights. One of the highlights of the tour was getting to watch the sofgline make tortellini. Mattia was knowledgeable, informative and provided us with an understanding of the food traditions as well as the history of the city. I only wished that we would have taken the tour sooner -- he had great recommendations for other places to eat and see in Bologna.

Practically perfect in every way. The tour was a great way to see parts of Bologna we probably would not have explored otherwise. He was a great guide, the tour was entertaining and informative. All the food we had was delicious. My husband was worried that it would be a massive amount of food, but the quantities were just right. We were able to enjoy at every stop and not feel stuffed by the end. Best of all, we were there just to enjoy, not to purchase anything from any vendors as all of those costs were included in the tour.

We had the most insightful and delicious experience with Mattia on the Delicious Bologna evening food tour. Not only did we learn so much about Bologna and Italy's regional cuisines but we learned so much more about Bologna's history which gave us a real appreciation of where we were and what we were eating. Mattia was an amazing guide but made us feel like we were out with a friend, he was easy to chat with and we could have easily done another couple of tours with him. I only wish we stayed in Bologna longer so we could go back to many of the places he took us and visit all the other recommendations he gave, though we did manage to squeeze in some!

The night time food tour was fantastic and set the standard for our days of feasting in Bologna! Mattia’s food tour was our first activity in Bologna and it helped us to orientate our way around the city and discover epic places to eat and drink. We tried many of Mattia’s recommendations for restaurants and bars and they were all brilliant too! Thank you Delicious Bologna: we had a great night out!
