We are a family of 3 with an 8 year old and we booked both a Pizza & Gelato food tour as well as a Pasta Making class with Taste Bologna. Our food tour was done by Elena who was very informed about the city of Bologna and its history. Her English was excellent. She gave us a great tour of the city at a pace that our 8 year old could feel comfortable. We ate delicious pizza, gelato and even tried a tagliatelle dessert. She knew the shop owners and everyone was very friendly and welcoming! All the food was included.
We then took a cooking class with Manuel who was so sweet with our daughter, making sure that she chopped safely and even helped her to cook on the stove. He was super patient and really doted on her which she (and we) loved. She was thrilled with her accomplishment and as soon as we came home we made tortelloni at home using the recipes that we learned.
Booking was easy and the company owner provided lots of information that we needed for the events. Both tour operators were on time and well prepared. The events with Taste Bologna were a highlight of our trip and I highly recommend them! I would say that Taste Bologna appeals to all ages!

The food was amazing, especially the pasta! The tour guide was responsive to questions and spoke excellent English, but he didn't really volunteer a lot of information. He mentioned his background in history and some interesting facts, but he didn't bring his knowledge to the tour and put the food and the city into a larger context. It was almost like he didn't have his "patter" down yet.
That said, it was a fascinating tour and piqued my interest in another visit to Bologna to learn more.

Going on a food tour with Loredana at Taste Bologna was an exceptional experience that was worth flying from Los Angeles to Italy for! We did the food tour of Modena and our expectations were blown away with everything. Loredana’s history lessons along with explanations of the food brought everything to life. The city is such a beautiful one with rich history - food being very integral in that - and Loredana was an expert guide on all items. We feel lucky to have learned and experienced so much in such a short window!

We had a great time on this 4 hour tour. Our guide Maria was excellent. We learned a lot about Bologna, Emilia Romano and Italy - culture and history as well as food. We tasted the typical bolognese favorites and wandered around the city from place to place, including the Mercator derbe and the food centered streets. It was really fun! Regarding the food, the gelato was the highlight for me!

We had an amazing tour experience with Darren, who clearly has a passion for food. Not only did we get to have a taste of the best that Bologna offers, Darren provides great historical and lifestyle insight of the city with his easy going demeanor, which makes the tour relaxing, tasty and very interesting. We can attest that Darren, who is also a chef, has the best taste - he introduced us to the best gelaterie after all! He can also share many other recommendations if you are visiting other cities in Italy.

Had a fantastic time with Darren during a sunset tour! Darren’s huge knowledge of the history of the city was matched by his passion for the local foods through his experience as a chef. Darren also provided some great food and wine recommendations and tips for the remainder of our trip. A wonderful way to discover the city (and Pignoletto!)

After almost 3 weeks in Bologna we wanted to make sure we wouldn’t have pasta withdrawal when we returned home! This was a great, very personal hands-on experience. We learned how to make pasta dough, techniques for shaping and filling, and serving. We ate 3 very substantial portions of the tortellini, torteloni, and tagliatelle
(essentially a full trattoria-size serving of each dish) and drank local wine. So much personal attention and teaching (and it’s more challenging than we imagined to do all by hand). It was absolutely worth the $ and time.

We had a great tour guide Mattia , who was very knowledgeable and helpful with all things Bolognese . The day was well organised starting with specialty coffees and including the best food Bologna had to offer with excellent information given by Mattia. I thoroughly recommend this food tour. Buonissimo!

Heard good things about this tour so my wife and I booked a few months ago. It met every expectation we had. We don't eat meat and that was not a problem. Our guide Mattia was outstanding. He took us to great tasting places and his background is archeology and ancient history so he was able to give amazing insight on the culture and origins of food and the historical sites. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone and should be a must do when in Bologna.

Fantastic pasta class with my two (almost grown) sons. Martina was skilled, professional but also very warm and fun. Three pasta types and delicious lunch afterwards. It was an amazing experiece. And the location of the small workshop was authentic and charming. Thank you🙏🤗 Can only recommend.

Our guide Elena not only told us about the food specialties, but in between she also told us stories about the city. Food was the main thing, but it was nice to hear a little about Bologna as well. The tastings were fun. We had a fun time and Elena was a good guide!
