From the time the driver picked us up early in the morning to when he dropped us off late afternoon, we were blown away by everyones' friendly manner, professional conduct, exceptional knowledge, passion for the food/ factory/ farm/ restaurant we visited and learned about... everything. I am full of food, exhausted in a great way, wanting to learn more. The friendly playful nature of Alessandro Jr and all of the producers was in my opinion genuine and honest, not contrived. The understanding of history, how it plays a part of the food--there was nothing lacking. I can't wait to return, and tell others of our experience.

We used this company for a private boat tour of the Venice Lagoon to celebrate a milestone birthday with a group of friends.
The service was excellent which resulted in a truly enjoyable experience.
Italian Days referred me to their associate in Venice, Lorenzo Guglielmi, who took over the planning of the day’s activities.
He was very considerate and precise in understanding our requirements and really wanted to get things right.
The resulting boat tour, which included a winery tour and tasting on Sant Erasmo island, a short but leisurely and informative tour of the northern lagoon and its islands and a drop-off at Burano island for a pre-booked lunch, was an absolute highlight of our day, enjoyed by all our guests. Lorenzo is an expert in the history of the Veneto and his genteel but highly knowledgeable manner meant that we all enjoyed his company.
The private taxi boat he had arranged for our transport throughout the day was also conducted in a highly professional manner.
Overall we could not have been more pleased with our day on the Venetian Lagoon, the expert guidance of Lorenzo and the service provided by Italian Days.
Bravo e Grazie!

I booked this for myself and my husband because we love food and to be honest I didn’t read any reviews beforehand or the full details of what was included in the price. So the first thing I’ll say is don’t have any breakfast before you get picked up.
This tour was fantastic. Alessandro was our guide and he was so engaging, informative and humorous. At each factory we were given full explanations of how the cheese, balsamic and prosciutto were produced and what the manufacturers had to do to obtain the DOP categorisation for their products.
The icing on the cake though was how we got to taste everything. It wasn’t just a case of being given a few slivers of cheese and meat. At the balsamic producer, a family in business since 1860, we were presented with a generous amount of various ages of Parmigiana Reggiano to taste alongside several ages of Balsamic along with their own Lambrusco wine. That wasn’t the end of the food though. It was then on to the prosciutto factory and after the tour there we were presented with prosciutto to sample but in order to appreciate how the products complement each other we were given more Balsamic, local wine and freshly cooked pasta dishes where the cheese and prosciutto were key ingredients.
This tour was well worth the money. It was great to see the pride these artisans have in their products.

Such a fun day exploring the foods of Bologna! First we were picked up promptly, first thing in the morning (the sun hadn't come up yet) at our hotel in a passenger van, and drove to the first experience which was the cheese factory/farm. We actually got to see how the whole processing of making Parmigiano Reggiano, from start to finish, which was very enlightening. I have to say their Ricotta cheese is the best I have tasted from all over the world.

Next we drove to a family owned DOP balsamic vinegar vineyard where we were able to see the process of making balsamic vinegar. Did you know it takes years and years to make just a small amount of vinegar. Very fascinating to hear and to taste. We got to compare balsamic venegar that isn't DOP and some that is. We were also able to taste the 25 year old, and 50 year old vinegar. This is tightly guarded as it is quite an arduous process, and very, very, time consuming just to get a few bottles out of the 25 and 50+ vinegar. Let's just say it's yummy.

Make sure you buy a bottle while you are there. I didn't, and I could kick myself as it's more expensive is the USA from the same vineyard.

Then it was off to the place where the prosciutto di Modena is made. That was interesting as well all these ham hocks hanging up, and the process of how the most tasty prosciutto is made.

Final stop was to have lunch at a cantina on a sprawling estate. Great views. Did I say FOOD, lots, and lots of Italian food and wine. Very tasty and a good variety of Italian dishes.

Then off to our hotel we go. We had our driver drop us off closer to city center so that we could enjoy the city before heading back to our hotel since this was or last night in Italy. She was very happy to oblige us.

Such a fun day. I highly recommend this tour.

The entire experience was fantastic, from pick up to drop off, everything was perfect. The driver was super friendly, the tour guide was knowledgeable and the hosts at the parmigiano reggiano, balsamico, and prosciutto producers were top notch. The food was delicious.

This was a fantastic day with the Alesssandros. From start (6.50 pick up) to end it was a really fun and informative day. You won’t need to eat for another 24 hours so don’t have anything other than a coffee before you get there. The amount of information and education on the food processes is second to none but it is the fun and enthusiastic delivery of Alessandro that makes this a truly memorable day out. It so excellent value and food (& wine) in copious amounts. The lunch at the end was amazing and delicious. A food tour but also a wine tour as from the homemade Lambrusco with breakfast to the sparkly with prosciutto and copious wine with lunch; a gastronomic feast and laughs a plenty. From aged Parmesan, fresh ricotta, honey, salami, homemade pasta, beef, prosciutto (6 ways!) , crescentina, focaccia and dessert we have feasted like kings! Also a bonus to meet two like minded travellers in our group a super fun day out.

Allesandro your guide is more fun than a barrel of monkeys. 3 stops; Reggiano Parmesan, Balsamic Vinager, and Prosciutto di Parma, all amazing most informative and amazing breakfast and lunch. I intend to do it again. Check out their instagram if you don’t believe me. You can almost smell the Parmigiana coming off the page

If we could leave more than five stars we would. The tour was a highlight not only of this trip to Italy but of several trips to Italy. The food, learning about the history and the culture, the people we met who create these amazing food products and most of all our guide Alessandro. We were lucky to be the only two on the tour so we had all of his attention. He made it seem so easy, with his enthusiasm for what he was telling us about. I don’t know how he does it day after day! His love and appreciation for the subject matter was clear. He answered all of our questions and really wanted us to understand as much as possible about the Parmesan cheese, balsamic vinegar and prosciutto. Can’t say anything more about the food than what has already been said - it was some of the best we have ever tasted. It made us sad that we couldn’t take more back to enjoy on a regular basis. I will echo what others have said, there is so much food to sample and enjoy and the lunch was incredible. We were not able to eat much more the rest of the day!
It is pretty obvious why this company has such incredible ratings; they are well-deserved. Anyone traveling to the area will hear from us that a tour with Italian Days food Experience should not be missed!

Wow, what an experience. Saw the production of three staple Italian foods that are native to the area around Bologna - Parmesano Reggiano, balsamic vinegar from Modena, and Prosciutto of several varieties. We learned a ton and gained a new appreciation for the process, time, and thought that goes into each. We also sampled widely and ended with a large lunch that was delicious! The group was mid-sized but did not feel crowded and we had an opportunity to socialize with several different couples. Our guide Alessandro was informative and entertaining. Truly a must if you are visiting Bologna.

The tour with Alessandro was so good that I recommended it to other friends from Germany who flew there afterwards to experiene the same with the same result - we all loved it. The Guide, Alessandro, is a brand himself and listening to him going on about Italian food, culture, the region or any other business is highly enterraining and actually educational as well. I learned so much during this day and thoroughly enjoyed the food and entire exoerience that I can easily claim that this has been the best food tour I ever visited and probably one of the best tours in all categories combined.
