We went on a Thursday morning and the place was pretty much empty, although that did not matter. It was amazing. There was a large Italian group tour running and only my wife and I looking for an English tour. They got someone to do the tour for us and it was so fantastic. You can easily walk past the many great things without realising it, so I’d encourage you to take your time and fill your tummy slowly with all of the AMAZING food. We were there for about 5 hours.

My son was invited for a party( on a Sunday) and some of the parents stayed behind.
The place is great , clean, spacious but it was empty.
The kids enjoyed the bikes, play ground and the beach volley but the place lacks costumers inside, the party was at 3:00 to 6:30 pm. There were a handful of clients walking around. Entrance was €15 and that’s quite expensive!.
And they were closing at 6:30.
The huge place was almost empty feeling sorry for all the beautiful restaurants around with totally empty.
Hope this place picks financially because it’s a pity with no one inside..
Good luck and hoping for good marketing strategies to have more costumers soon!!

We visited Fico 4 years ago - it was an excellent, a free display of Italian gastronomy with loads to do and eat.

We came back willing to repeat the experience and what a disappointment! 10€for the basic ticket to visit an empty place . Most of the displays are broken and abandoned. Restaurants are closed. We saw dead flies sitting in old balsamic jars, abandoned seafood tanks full of what looked like dead mussels. Not just disappointing, but actively depressing.

We refused to buy anything and spend a single euro on such a scam. Eataly should simply close Fico , or at the very least make it free entry again (which it used to be).

This place is very unique and celebrates the diversity of Italian food products. You have many food options to choose from, as well as food and product chiosques. They can also ship items home for you. A very cool experience is buying any of the food preparation courses. This is also a good, educational place for children. But-if you love to eat, it's a must go!

Terrible! Avoid at all costs!!!
They charged me 10 euros a person on a weekday. Upon my entrance, 90% of all restaurants were closed... Asked kindly for a ticket refund so I could leave and eat elsewhere, they declined.

Overpriced food... Very bad experience

Unfortunately we went on a Thursday when there was no courses and sessions and fun park was shut but still a very nice experience. Place is big enough to roam for a few hours with educational videos, outdoor mini golf, and staff are very nice. Plan to go when its all open.

Maybe we went in August but you can't make me pay to enter a large and expensive supermarket.
If you can't guarantee the quality, they have everything close and reopen when you can.
The only positive note is the Fontanafredda stand. Good wine.

To get here, there's a shuttle bus outside the central train station. However, what no-one tells you is that you have to purchase tickets in the bar next to the bus stop, which is just bizarre.

We got to the place just as it opened at 10am. We found that many of the stalls and shops weren't even open. There was plenty of very expensive produce to buy but practically no opportunity whatsoever to try anything beforehand. And in terms of signage, very little in English. I understand that we're in Italy, but given the nature of the place, I would have expected some help with the language.

And finally, as we excited via the supermarket, an over-zealous security guard tried to send us back inside after we'd already walked through a till lane because it wasn't the proper exit.

All-in-all, this place could have been great but it's a total missed opportunity. Avoid, there's much better things to do in Bologna.

What a strange place! We were staying in a villa 10 mins drive away from FICO and decided to visit. I'd read mixed reviews usually describing it as an expensive Disneyworld of Italian food and drink.
The car parks are enormous but there was just a small scattering of vehicles when we turned up late morning.
Annoyingly you have to pay car parking fees if you stay over 2 hours. I'd have thought they would be encouraging people to stay longer, not the opposite.
The site is enormous and you can use bicycles to get around. Dogs allowed in too despite all the food and drink on display - this would never be allowed back home due to hygiene restrictions.
We had an average lunch - we've eaten out in the local towns far better, far cheaper and with much better service. Wine expensive.
Several times, as we wandered around empty areas, we wondered how somewhere like this manages to stay open.
It's free to get in (apart from the car parking) but you can pay extra to enter some of the carousels. We tried one and it was very poor and a complete waste of 4 euros.
I really wanted to like this place but I'd have to say to anyone reading this who is dithering about going - don't bother!

As an Italian living in Italy, I really don't understand this place. It is just a big grocery store, selling products you find at every big supermarket (products like Balocco, pasta di gragnano, prosciutto di parma...you can find these everywhere!!!).Parking costs after the second hour which is excessive if you think you can park for free at the shopping center 500 meters away.Do not waste your time coming here, visit Bologna center and go to some supermarket if you want to bring stuff home!!! Or some SALUMERIA or FORMAGGERIA,there are many around the city of Bologna!!
