Katia customized the tours based on our preference. She bought us to all these amazing local artisanal and top quality farms and producers, with amazing lunches in the local restaurants which highlighted the products for each of our 3 day tours:
We had the best aged organic Parmigiano Reggiano in a local farm and chees factory, incredible aged balsamic vinegar in a small producer with long family tradition, and amazing culatello which are not available in US (much better than prosciutto!). The highlight was the white truffle hunt with a local guide and his incredibly talented dog.
The lunch for everyday was beyond our expectation. It was a full culinary experience everytime!
Katia is getting requests and busier everyday. If you want an authenic, high-quality and fun food and culture experience in Bologna, Modena and Parma region, book her tour quickly before it fills up. This is a life changing experience!

My partner and I just ended our incredible week-long stay in Bologna. Several months prior to our actual trip, I found Katia online. Katia then began making arrangements for what turned out to be one amazing, bespoke itinerary spanning three days. We got to do white truffle hunting with Mauricio and his expert dog, Machia. Afterwards, we had a truffle degustation lunch at a one Michelin star restaurant! It was an authentic and unforgettable experience! Then she brought us to an organic dairy farm to see how the Parmigiano Reggiano is made. She even introduced us to its owner, a multi-awarded cheese maker! Then on to the Acetaia Pedroni to see how the balsamic vinegar is made. Folks, the authentic balsamic vinegar is nothing like what we buy from Costco in the US! Our third day was spent at a culatello making facility in Parma. What an incredible three days spent with this amazing lady.
Very highly recommended for bespoke tours of the Emilia-Romagna region!!!

My wife and I spent a month in Italy and Switzerland and used 5 different "tour" companies in various areas and without a doubt our time with Emilia Storytellers was by far the best of all. The food tour including Balsamic (discovered REAL Balsamic), Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto was outstanding! I do not think I could have found a way to make it better. Guide, thank you Katia, was awesome, locations and the people there were just fabulous, including a shout out to Teresa at Caseificio Bio Reggiani (as we share 40 year anniversaries in the same year :-)!! but also Pedroni Di Pedroni Giuseppe Farm and Prosciuttificio Nini Gianfranco. Thank you Katia for making this stop so memorable!!

I cannot say enough good things about Katia and Emilia Storytellers. We spent three days of our honeymoon exploring the food and wine scene throughout the area. Katia took care of every detail from the logistics of the day to picking us up in Bologna to providing dinner recommendations over email months before we even met her. After we left, she emailed us lots of pictures she took so that we could have great memories. Katia herself is wonderful, fun, funny, knowledgeable and passionate about food and sharing her community. If you want to have an amazing time in Emilia–Romagna, get in touch with Katia!

Our experiences included truffle hunting in Savigno, visiting a Parmigiano Reggiano Mountain cheese dairy, experiencing Traditional Balsamic Vinegar Of Modena in the Medieval village of Vignola, visiting a High-rated Lambrusco Wine producer and finally a hands-on cooking class.
Along the way Katia arranged delicious lunches at restaurants we would highly recommend.
Each of our experiences felt tailored and intimate. From learning about and tasting Traditional Balsamic Vinegar Of Modena at the owner’s house to the hands-on cooking class with Chiara our host and cook at her beautiful Agriturismo in Bologna hills we were graciously welcomed and made to feel special.
Katia handled everything superbly. No detail overlooked. She had an amazing ability to connect with us. Our experiences were great but our days with Katia and getting to know her made them special. She put her heart and soul into the time we spent with her.
We would highly recommend Emilia Storytellers and Katia when you visit the Bologna and Modena areas of Emilia Romagna to discover its foods, wines, and charming villages.

We went on the full day (8:30-5:30) tour that started off at the parmesan cheese creamery, where we tasted fresh ricotta cheese along with the famous Italian parmigiano reggiano. Next stop was the balsamic vinegar producer, which was a multi generational family operation. We had a delicious full lunch there with a variety of salumi from the region, parmesan risotto (my favorite!), Lambrusco wine, cheesecake, and of course, delicious aged vinegar topping everything off. Our last stop was the Fattorio Moretto family run winery, where we tasted 6 different Lambrusco wines paired with aperitivo (breadsticks, nuts, salumi). All of the artisans were incredibly passionate about their products and the quality was evident. We were picked up on time by our driver and dropped off at the first location; the tour guide then drove us to the next two locations. My only suggestion for improvement would be to provide a larger car as it was a bit tight having 3 adults sit in the back and someone had to squeeze in the middle seat. Otherwise, our tour guide Alice was fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable, and fluent in English, and each of the locations met and exceeded my expectations in terms of food and wine quality and uniqueness, as I had not experienced any of these before! It was also easy coordinating with Katia, the tour company owner, in advance of the tour. Would highly recommend going on this or other Emilia tours.

My wife and I joined Katia today to tour a biodynamic Parmigiano Reggiano farm and Balsamic Acetaia, followed by lunch at the latter. I felt compelled to jump online immediately after to recommend her to everyone.
Katia was communicative from the very start. Fantastic English for us - unfortunately not comfortable speaking Italian - and very informative, explaining the cheese-making progress. She made us feel incredibly comfortable, and it was though we were travelling with a friend the whole time.
Katia joined us for lunch at the end, which was absolutely amazing, a highlight even. Everyone at each location was accomodating and professional, but Katia was of course the best!
If you’re looking to learn about the authentic world of Emilian cuisine, or just want to hang out with friendly company, enjoying the best this region has to offer, then I highly recommend Katia to all. Thank you!

I can’t say enough about this tour. We did the tour of the parmigiana factory and the balsamic vinegar producer. It was fabulous. We did several guided tours on this, our fifth(?) trip to Italy, and this was the best, hands down. We look for several things in a guided tour.
First, is the guide on time? Check! The driver, Simone, was actually 15 minutes early, and we met Katia at the rendezvous point where she was waiting for us. I should mention that Simone may have been the most expert driver I can ever remember - this matters a lot in Italy.
Second, is the guide knowledgeable? Check! Katia thoughtfully and patiently answered every one of my 157 questions.
Third, did the guide provide seamless access to the experiences and afford interaction with onsite personnel? Check! From the moment we put on our little protective booties at the Parmesan factory to the time we shook hands with the balsamic producer, we felt like we were in good hands. (Getting samples of ricotta as it came out of the vat was very cool!)
Fourth, could we have arranged the same experience ourselves? Doubtful. While we might have been able to get to these locations, we would have been lost in the cheese factory. We didn’t see anyone without some kind of guide, so I’m guessing they only allowed guided visitors. And we really needed Katia’s expert explanations. In sum, I can’t see a way we could we have done this whole package ourselves.
Finally, was the pacing good? Check! In our case neither too fast nor too slow, pretty much Goldilocks, but fast enough to allow us to take a detour to a funny statue in Castelfranco Emilia that was icing on a wonderful cake of a day.
If you’re at all on the fence, book this - Katia fills up quickly!

Literally the best and most authentic tour We (Gaby and I) have ever experienced. Katia took us to an organic parmigiano production, a traditional acetaia and to a natural wine producer. We also had lunch in a agriturismo that served lovely food and local wines. As Katia seemed to be in a very friendly relationship with the producers they welcomed us like their family. It was at no point unpersonal.
We felt the passion that Katia has for her job and were amazed by the service: She picked us up in Bologna and told us many interesting things about the region and the food artisans. Also her English is perfect and she manages to tailor the tours to the customers.
Katia, we will recommend you to all our friends and our families.
Thank you so much!
Best,
Gaby and Moritz

Our day started with Katia picking us up at our hotel in Bologna.
Katia drove us to Caseificio Rosola to tour their cheese dairy and a tasting of all their cheeses. This dairy makes incredible Parmesan Cheese from white cows. Absolutely awesome. Katia’s knowledge of how Parmesan is made is incredible!
Then Katia took us to lunch. Delicious! After lunch Katia drove us to Guisti Balsamic for a tour and tasting.
To top off this amazing day Katia took us to a truffle hunting experience!
This day could not have been more amazing, delicious, and a most incredible experience! I hope some of our pictures show you our amazing day.
We highly recommend using Emilio Storytellers for a once in a lifetime experience! Really a 10* day!

Hi there ...I am booking a group of 4 of us to visit in May time and we are looking to do some tours . I really , really liked the sound of your tour and the reviews are truly fantastic . You would be my first choice ..however there are budgets so I need to ask you some details of prices please. I suppose I should ask for the basic tour cost of the Cheese and Modena vinegar and then see how that looks . Also do we need a car to get to you? Many thanks in advance for your advice and information, Mary
