This is a short yet important street in the heart of the city centre of Bologna linking Piazza Maggiore with the Two Towers. Seems two thousand years ago, this stretch of street was known as Via Aemilia. Today it is named after Francesco Rizzoli, the Milan born orthopedist who spend much time in Bologna. You will find retail shops, coffee shops, restaurants and see numerous historic buildings of Piazza Maggiore that line the street as well as the icon Two Towers that mark its end to the east.

Via Rizzoli is a short street, which runs from the exit of Biblioteca Salaborsa, the public library near Neptune's Statue, to the Two Towers. It's a pleasant street, with Palazzo Re Enzo and Sottopasso di Piazza Re Enzo on one side and some quality shops on the other. You're almost certain to walk along it while exploring the city.

If your in Bologna, this is a must visit street, quite short in length, but full of architecture. Together with shops and cafes.

This street links the heart of the city, Piazza Maggiore, with the Two Towers, the symbol of the city.

The street has also many cafes and shops.

The vast majority of streets in Bologna have porticos - which are great on hot sunny days. Also the mosaic floors are much better than the cobblestones in other old cities.

I was lucky enough to see this busy road on a Saturday when it was closed to traffic and full of locals and visitors out promenading in the late winter sunshine, creating a fantastic atmosphere. The main feature are the iconic Two Towers at one end of the street, but it also borders the Piazza Maggiore, which is the heart of the old city of Bologna. It’s an impressive place to visit, but best at the weekend when it’s pedestrianised.

This is a famous street in Bologna because of the many cafes, banks and shops. You will find every major designer represented on this street. The street is named after Dr. Francis Rizzoli, who was the famous founder of the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute, today one of the top orthopedic hospitals in Italy and the world.

Again the streets of Bologna have great porticos. Very handy when it’s so sunny, a shadow spot is always great for me. Walking around this street has lots of great shops. Also for window shopping.
