Italian cooking lessons in an Italian home! We are happy to teach you how...

Italian cooking lessons in an Italian home! We are happy to teach you how to prepare authentic Italian dishes and although we are friendly, we are also quite serious about teaching you the right way to make these dishes and ensuring that you will be able to replicate these back home. Your success back home is our objective. We are professional and experienced but not stuffy or arrogant. Our specialty is pasta making, the old fashioned way; the way the Italian grandma's still make it (with a wooden rolling pin and board)! You will make several pasta shapes and sauces and won't miss anything! We also teach how to cook with local specialties like Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, Bologna Mortadella and Prosciutto from Parma. We cook with fresh seasonal produce, meats, and seafood. Lessons are personalized and held in small groups (1-3, up to 6 if related or close friends) to assure plenty of one-on-one attention. Our hands-on cooking lessons are held in a home setting. No surcharge for single participants or private lessons. Discounts for children. Lessons available in English, Spanish or Italian.

We wanted some authentic activities in Italy and this is just what we were looking for. Mirabel took us to some local markets and showed us how to buy produce and meats like the locals. We went to her apartment for cooking in a real Bologna home kitchen. The food we made was wholesome, simple, and delicious. I loved the... More

This was a brilliant day. The session wasn't too big and the dishes prepared were excellent with a wide range and a very talented host. Every effort was made to be helpful and the time spent there was thoroughly enjoyed. Maribel was friendly and after the event she sent on recipes that could be saved.

While in Bologna we took a pasta class with Maribel which turned out to be a highlight of our trip. We met Maribel and started our day by shopping through the local markets for the needed ingredients. This was a fun experience. We then went to Maribel's home where we cooked and laughed, thoroughly enjoying the afternoon. We learned how... More

It was a great day to learn how to make pasta like a traditional Italian, with ingredients sourced from the local markets. Maribel was very knowledgable and good company and so were the other 3 members of the class. You cook plenty to eat and drink afterwards, so allow enough time to enjoy your hard work.

First, Bologna is a great place to visit - very little tourism - very authentic! Maribel is knowledgeable and her English is flawless. Her understanding of the local markets and produce, meat and cheeses for cooking is endless. We had a great time on the market tour and we met a lovely couple and had a super time cooking in... We visited Bologna for our 20 year anniversary, and this class was a gift for my husband who loves to cook. I am not a huge fan of cooking, but I LOVED this experience! my favorite part was the market tour and learning about the different foods, regions and about the shops. We were able to visit the market later... More

Maribel gave us an amazing memory for a lifetime. She teaches small groups so it was just the four of us and we cooked food we don't normally eat and loved it! She will email you menu options so you can choose your meal or be like us and just let her pick! Admittedly, I wasn't too sure about this... More

We spent the whole day with Maribel, starting in the market and then going back to her house for a lesson on 2 pastas and 2 antipastas. It was definitely one of the best things we did while in Bologna. At first I was skeptical of a market tour -- I can find my way around a market and we... More

Fantastic experience with a wonderful person! During our honeymoon we wanted to experience local food and also learn some Italian cooking of our own. We traveled to Bologna and met Maribel at the local markets. We developed a menu ( 3 pasta dishes and dessert) with Maribel's recommendationsand she was extremely understanding of my lactose intolerance. Here we explored some... More

Our day cooking and shopping in the markets of Bologna with Maribel is an experience we will never forget. My partner is a foodie and the home cook and I'm the novice! On our way to the UK to visit family we decided to do a five night stop in Bologna, a city of Italy we'd never been to before.... More
