We had an amazing day in Agnone, travelled from Bomba in Abruzzo through some spectacular mountainous countryside. The area is of outstanding natural beauty with valleys, mountains and waterfalls. The town is very old with history stretching back thousands of years, looks like it was very rich / important in old days judging by the amount of churches. Lots of artisan shops, nice cafes and the worlds oldest bell foundry operated by same Marinelli family for 1000 years! Will visit again, lovely town!

We have visited Agnone many times and never fail to be left speechless by the quality of bufala mozzarella on offer! By far the best is made and offered by the family shop half way down next to the fruttera. The product is always freshly made and never fails to bring quality and authenticity to even the most basic caprese

We went to Agnone to look at properties in the view to purchase. It is a very beautiful area and the town itself is lovely. The people were so helpful and very tollerant of 5he fact that we couldnt speak any Italian. Nothing touristy to do here so relax and enjoy the area

We did a trip to Agnone from Duronia not far away when visiting relatives. The city has a lot of small shops and is on top of a mountain. Well worth a leasurely few hours of strolling the streets.

A small town in upper Molise, but with lots to see and eat.
The award-winning Marinelli foundry, which also supplied bells to the Vatican, the famous ndocciata on 8 December, various pastry shops and small dairies.
In short, a stop not to be missed

We were attracted to Agnone by the Marinelli foundry but in the end we discovered a splendid town full of churches, ancient artisan shops, panoramic terraces overlooking the valley.
