We walked straight into the small square called Piazza della Republicca from the port and there in front of us was the Teatro delle Muse. You really can't miss it. The building is fairly attractive but the square it stands on is compact meaning you are quickly drawn to the more open Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi pedestrianized street with its shopping areas. Shame as this building would benefit from a more spectacular location. The il TuoPrestito church in the square is attractive but the lack of space and continual traffic movements somewhat distract. Like us you will find yourself being drawn away fairly quickly meaning you'll not have enough time to take in the attractiveness of this theatre.

It is a traditional theatre, but modern inside. The acoustics is rather poor.
You either like it or dislike it.

Really great looking venue, nice for what we went to see. We saw Ludovico Einaudi a few weeks ago, he was incredible. The performance was some what spoilt by the etiquette of the predominately Italian audience, very noisy! The use of flash photography was banned, maybe the signs in Italian went unnoticed, so many people with digital SLR cameras with added flashes, I'm amazing he was able to see the piano he was playing! The staff reluctant to do anything. The venue is nice, just watch out for the crowd!

PFM concert on October 31, 2023, only echoes, reverberations, rumbles and resonances of the lowest frequencies could be heard in the galleries. We could understand almost nothing of the voice and half of the instruments played. There was also a protest from the public during the concert. Absolutely to be avoided for concerts, at least for seats in the highest galleries.

We watched Andrea Bocelli in a benefit concert for Haiti orphans, accompanied by the Ancona Orchestra in this 200 year old opera house. Since the theatre was built in a time before electronics, the acoustics were so good, no microphones were used during the performance. Bocelli and his troop were excellent as always. As benefit contributors, we were invited to dine with Andrea following the concert, so the whole evening was just an incredible event. The exterior is classic Italian. The interior is modern and completely comfortable. This is a beautiful theatre to watch any music event.

I highly recommend selecting and/or training staff within the ticket office.
No kindness in dealing with citizens.
Zero availability to information.
It is addressed confidentially
without having any correctness and appropriateness.

Theater with a neoclassical stylistic form designed by architect Pietro Ghinelli. City point of reference for shows.
