Arguably one of the finest Cathedrals in the entire world, St. Peter's is the spiritual center of the Vatican and the product of many of Italy's great Renaissance's architects, among them Bramante, Raphael and Michelangelo.

A wonderful site to be able to say we have visited. The shear scale and grandeur of the building alone is enough but to then consider he history and explore the various altars really is special.

Came here to go in and climb the steps however the line was the longest thing I had ever seen right round to the other side of the basilica around the side must have been nearly 1000 people in that queue so didn't bother. However...More

Hi Nicole, I don't think you can buy them in advance. I bought them on the spot, and they accept cash only. Positive side, there was not a long line at the lift.
