On your way in or out of Vatican City, make sure to stop and appreciate St Peters Square. It exactly like every picture you've ever seen of it, and it's free to roam, soak it in and take some pics.

This is a must see in the Vatican City! Also, the Swiss guards are a nice added treat! On Wednesdays and Sunday's the Pope also gives a free service here!

We went here when the Pope was away and hence could do a nice relatively crowd free view of the place. Amazing place for doing some photography. Be prepared to walk a lot.

Came here today (Sunday) to see the Pope. It was hot and humid and busy at the square but well worth it - even though I'm not Catholic! The square is huge and buildings around it beautiful. There are guards with machine guns around the perimeter and lots of police presence. Guess it's the sign of the times. If you... More

St Peters Square is very huge. Lots of picture ops. This is just outside St Peters Basilica. This is a must visit place in Vatican.

The entry into St Peter's allows one to visit the St Peter's Basilica which is free. Once inside you can also buy fast track entry tickets to the Vatican museum and Sistine Chapel. The square itself is ok, but one should spend most of the time to see St Peter's basilica. It is awesome. To see the Cupola or dome,... More
