Gorgeous park where you can truly enjoy the green scenery and old roman ruins, perfect to just stroll around and fill your lungs with oxygen and your eyes with vast green scenery, perfect for a serene moment.

Amazing, stunning place, where ancient Roman ruins still can be found, including a nymphaeum and the vestiges of an Ancient Roman aqueduct. Pastureland, flocks of sheep and other cattle, farmland and 18th century old farms, which will make you feel as if you were time-traveling, as if time has stopped. It’s huge, very vast, and wandering can be combined with jogging and other activities/work out. It takes more than just one day to be explored thoroughly. Close to the Old Roman Appian Road, which contributes to creating the magic atmosphere this place is imbued with, there are also creeks and small ponds. Amazing, and the neighborhoods surrounding the park are nice and not so far from the city center.

Our apartment is near the park so we spent an evening cycling around. Not like your normal park. This one has Roman ruins, farm animals, forests & hills. A great place to escape the mad crowds of Rome. Highly recommended.

How do you rate a park? Its a park. Its where locals go jogging, pee their dog or have picnic. WC near entrance. Metro stop close by. Big big park. Has a small place with farm animals at eastern side, probably someones property. Has grassy knolls. Coming here for a sunny afternoon was ten times more fun than visiting the crowded vatican with its street peddlers.

Well, we walked to the park from the Metro station, which took maybe 5 minutes and headed for the Appian Way, about a 2 mile hike. On our journey we passed an active farm house, saw a heard of sheep grazing in a field and took pictures of a flock of parrots, which was a big surprise. It is a very nice park for bicycling, which the office will rent you bicycles, running, or just taking a leisurely stroll.

The park is located just a few blocks southwest of the Colli Albani station on the A (orange) line of the metro. It is a large park with rolling hills, a creek, wooden areas and open fields. We saw sheep grazing in one of the open areas. We also saw a pair of parrots. It is a beautiful place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of Rome.

I rented an apartment just a few minutes walk from this lovely park on my last trip to Rome. For a start its huge and is ideal to chill out after a day of crowds in Rome. Lots of interesting history dotted around the park and a lovely farm which you can walk into.

A perfect relaxing place with or without babies (all age). Swing and little parc for the babies (close to largo Tacchi Ventura) but the main attraction are sheeps wich mantain the grass ...so freely to graze...and other animals free to live. Is,not a zoo but a natural environment with duck...hens...white horse...
Few months ago a littke bar has opened...there also you can rent a bike to better see the country side..need a stop.!

To be honest, there is nothing spectacular about Caffarella Park itself. What is spectacular is that there are 200 hectares of open and wooded parkland right near the center of Rome. The park includes a working farm (lots of sheep about), excellent hiking and bike trails and picnic areas. More for local residents seeking a respite from the city than for tourists.
