I used google to order and pay for my rail ticket to Civitavecchia station. There are two modes of train- a super fast one and a slower one, with a considerable difference in price but only a 15 to 20 minute time difference.
The slow trains seem to vary in the time it takes and we selected the 10.12 am from Rome Termini which reached Civitavecchia at 11.13.am. This was the quickest of the slow trains. We travelled second class and with a seniors discount paid 5 euros each. There is a local bus located just outside the station which will transport you to Cruise port area. When we arrived the port authority for some reason supplied a free one.
Foot note. Arriving at Termini Rome is a little daunting as it is large and busy. We were fortunate in that looking a bit bewildered and lost and looking for an information desk we received help from a bilingual freelance helper who first established the language spoken , looked at our ticket, took us to the wall posted timetable, explained it in English and proceeded to take us to the correct platform with full instruction. Of course some remuneration was expected and delivered and it was worth it for the help of the bilingual entrepreneur.
The Platform is located to the right hand side of the station and a very long walk to the end. Give yourself plenty of time to locate and get to this platform. Ps our tickets were printed in Italian. Good luck and enjoy some of the pretty Italian country side at your leisure
If you ship arrives at civitavecchia and you have a day you could travel up and back to Rome using either the fast or slow trains and either connect with them using the local bus or taxi . The distanct from port to station in very short.

My wife and I are in Rome to celebrate our 35th anniversary. Before leaving our home read up a lot about safety in Rome. Be wary of just any taxi service. After reading several reviews I chose to use this company and purchased the transport tickets online before leaving. Our driver, Masimo, met us at the airport with a printed sign with our name, he was very professional. Felt 100% safe. Car was clean inside and out, no smell of cigarettes. Would definitely use this company again!

Paid in advance and emailed provider to confirm our booking. Provider promptly replied to confirm. Our flight was delayed 2 and half hours from Amsterdam to Rome. I promptly emailed to let provider know of delay and new flight number. They emailed back I had to pay an additional $45 euros and this was a special rate that had to be paid to the driver in cash. They had plenty of notice but it was a take it or leave it proposition. We had little choice but to accept. Driver met us at the airport but couldn't speak English. Arrived at hotel fine. Feel we were taken advantage of. Will not use this company again.

We used Welcome Pickups for our cruise ship transfer from Civitavecchia to our hotel in Rome. We cannot recommend them highly enough. We also used them two days later for our transfer from the Hyatt to Rome International (FCO) for our flight back to Vancouver. At the port of Civitavecchia they were on time and found us quickly amidst many hundreds of people and vehicles during the cruise ship departures. They use an app, similar to an Uber app, where they can communicate with you very effectively. The driver was fluent in English and gave us a safe and swift transfer into Rome. The same can be said for our transfer from the Hyatt to the airport. Excellent service and totally worry free transfers. Great vehicles in great condition, comfortable, clean and well presented. Very price competitive and have the edge with their service. Five stars all round for the cars, service and drivers.

We booked the private transfer thru our accomodation in Rome, best thing we did as we were met and guided to the waiting car. We discussed later, that we couldn't have been bothered dragging the 4 cases etc through the trains and buses. To be honest after a long flight, it was a joy to sit there and watch Rome slide by knowing we'd be delivered to the door. The driver was great and helped with the bags etc.

Very good service driver friendly and helpful. Arrived 10 minutes late, a phone call was immediately answered reaffirming the meeting point. The driver found us and assisted with the luggage. Used the the same service for for transport from downtown Rome hotel to the cruise port Civittavechia - excellent service, driver was actually early , helped with luggage etc. dependable company and recommended.

On arrival we couldn’t locate our driver who was supposed to be there waiting for us with a sign.
We got through customs well within the 60 minute allowed time, but no one there.
I called the tour operator to which she responded that she would contact our driver and call us back. No call back.
After walking around the arrival area for another 15 minutes I called again. The operator asked if I was at the agreed upon place which I assured her I was since I was literally standing directly under the sign.
I then finally saw our driver walk up from an entirely different terminal.
He was nice enough. Took one of our bags and walked ahead with little to say. He seemed a bit put out. He drove us to the hotel without saying a word and dropped us off and then seemed a little annoyed that we didn’t tip.
If were to come to Rome again, I would consider a different option especially after such a long flight.

good morning,
Thanks for taking time reviewing our transfer.
Unfortunately in occasion of your transfer driver was in the wrong terminal letting your party wait for him.
We can only apologise, unfortunately sometimes we all do mistakes.
