Neighborhood: Trevi
A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is all about action. From early morning through the wee hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle are the remains of an ancient neighborhood that you can visit by heading over to a repertoire cinema and asking for a peek underground. There is something for everyone, but if peace and quiet are what you seek, plan to visit in the early morning hours.

The Spanish Steps Apartment
Rome, Italy33,963 contributions
Feb 2015 • Couples
This is a small (2 room), private, free exhibition space with rotating exhibits including art and historical objects owned by the Fondazione Sorgente Group. Located between the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain, the exhibition space is located in the ground floor of the corporate office. In February 2015, the exhibit was "Magistri astronomiae from 16th to 19th century: Cristopher Clavius, Galileo Galilei and Angelo Secchi," with letters written by Galileo, a 16th century celestial globe, original documents laying out the Gregorian calendar, and ancient scientific instruments related to early astronomy. Interesting and beautiful. Information, including the brochure regarding the exhibit, was presented in Italian and English, although a video accompanying the exhibit was in Italian only. The Fondazione Sorgente Group's lovely Athena Nike was also on display. A pleasant, tiny museum space to drop by if you are in the area. Check on what is currently on display before going as there may be times when the space is between exhibits. You need to present an ID to the security desk. Hours are 10:30-6:30, Monday-Friday.
