Awesome family time with Giuliana, we had some short history and saw actual samples. Then the activity was great, let the whole family let go and create our own pieces.

Me and my friend had an absolute blast at this workshop. First of all it was really interesting to find out about the history Mosaic and the studio itself. The mosaic making itself was also really entertaining. And a really nice memory to take home and hang up on your walls. I would especially like to thank Sara, the instructor. She is absolutely lovely and a real sunshine, it was great to be in her company.

We had the best two plus hours of our trip to Rome in the workshop. You start with learning about the history of mosaics and the types of marble, then pick your mosaic to make. The women in the studio are true artists and very patient. You are working with the actual artists and restorers who work on the mosaics in Rome. Clipping and nipping marble to fit into the mosaic is lots of fun. This is great.

Wonderful workshop, very knowledgeable and kind staff. I have a new found respect for the art form and spent the rest of our trip pointing out mosaics with awe after trying my hand at one. I would love to take another class. Highly recommended!

Amazing, informative and personal experience. Teacher took great care in ensuring we had the right image to create a masterful mosaic of, making sure we were all happy with our finished projects.

!!!!!Amazing!!!! Super fun, super challenging and super final product! Very happy with the class. Went with my high school friend on a girls trip and was excited come across this class on trip advisor-something different. Small class (4 people), great instruction and wonderful family history of the mosaic artist in a beautiful historical setting. Highly recommend!! This is what I made :)

I had been in Rome for two weeks admiring the many historical mosaics. On my last day I passed a shop with beautiful mosaic pieces in the window. As I entered I quickly realized it was also a studio. I was warmly welcomed by the shop owners, provided insight to the techniques and their classes. It was wonderful to see some of the projects in progress. I purchased two lovely pieces for my home, which will give me years of enjoyment. I cannot wait until I return to Rome to take a class. If you are in Rome treat yourself to this little treasure.

My husband and I were looking for an experience that didn’t involve too much walking since we were walking about 10km a day but being a painter I wanted to have an artsy experience but have my non-artsy husband enjoy it. This definitely fit the bill. The studio is an authentic mosaic studio and the teachers were very knowledgeable. Also, you get to cut marble!

After an introduction and some guidance we got to choose a picture from ancient mosaics or do our own.

It was a unique and fun experience that made me feel very connected to Ancient Rome and we had an awesome souvenir to bring home. My husband said he had a lot more fun than he thought he would!

Highly recommended!!

I have already seen most of the big sights in Rome and was looking for a fun activity. This was a fabulous time of learning the old ways of the Roman mosaic and making my own to take home. The ladies who taught the class were just lovely and I really wanted to stay for the four day immersion but couldn't. Go to nearby Santa Maria Maggiore and Santa Pressede before or after for the mosaics to further appreciate the value of what you are doing.

I did this with my 11 year old niece. We both loved it. It is more difficult than I expected but still a lot of fun. My niece was severely jet lagged (had not slept much in three days) and cranky as heck but she still loved it. We both are now shopping for mosaic kits to do at home. I wish I could remember the instructors names - a red head and a brunette. Both were so nice and informative and patient. I highly recommend this if you need a break from the tourist sites or want to get out of the hot Roman streets for a few hours one afternoon.
