I agree with the other reviews - this store is relatively overpriced, but also not surprising given its proximity to the Vatican. We bought a nice rosary to bring home and the staff were very friendly.
Great selection, but rather expensive as others stated. Most items we purchased in Italy were expensive though, so it was no surprise. We purchased several rosaries made with swarovski crystals, crucifixes, a small statue of La Pieta, a holy water font and several other small...More
DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. We paid for a pure gold cross. The lady working there said the store provides a service to send your souvenir to the Vatican to have it blessed and will deliver it to your hotel. They swapped out the pure...More
The galleria Savelli is a shop near the Vatican. It has a large selection of higher priced items for sale. If you are looking for cheap items to take back home, this is not the place to buy them. The store will take the religious...More
We booked the skip the line Vatican tour here. They sent us to another tour company called Maya tours. Once we arrived, they told us the tour was cancelled. Lessons learned - Don't book through a 3rd party just book direct with a tour operator...More
My sister and I decided to purchase "skip the line" tickets to save our 77 year old mum the inconvenience of standing in a long queue to enter the Basilica. The tickets costing €15 each were supposed to include an audio guide. We were assured...More
Yes we did skip the line but were left without guidance as to how to use the audio units which failed during our tour..... Sorry doesn't cut it when you pay a premium and get a faint apology for a lack of integrity. Battery failure...More
We stopped to purchase a first communion gift for a little boy and found the staff to be welcoming and very helpful - not at all pushy. One of the store clerks guided my wife to items in the price range we selected, carefully explained...More

Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as
visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
