After attending many of Mario Bernardi's virtual tours during the Covid lockdown, we booked a 5-day custom private tour with Mario that included Ancient Rome walking tour (Coliseum, Forum, and the Palatine Hill); Appian Way, Underground Catacombs, and Roman Baths of Caracalla; Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, Vatican Gardens, and Scava; Baroque Rome walking tour (including Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and Pantheon); Borghese Gallery and Gardens; and a walking tour of the Ancient Jewish Ghetto (wonderful fried artichokes for lunch) and Trastevere. Mario had a driver pick us up at the airport (at 11 p.m. after our flight was delayed!), and we also had drivers at various points to make our walking tours more convenient and doable. At approximately $3,000 for two (which included all entrance fees), it was worth every penny.

My husband and I went to Italy in September 2021 for our honeymoon. Mario was with us for 3 days in Rome for the Baroque Rome walking tour, Ancient Rome Walking tour, and the day at the Vatican. Mario was THE BEST!! He is so knowledgeable about all things Rome, every question we had he was able to answer in incredible detail. He is funny and entertaining and simply the best guide we could ask for. If you want to have a unique and informative experience during your Italy travels, please use Mario and his Grand Tour colleagues!

Cinque Terre and Lucca day tours These two tours were fabulous. To see Cinque Terre from the water was amazing and one we highly recommend. The views were breath taking!! The water so very clear. The bet time to go is in September when the kids are back in school. Not as crowded but still fabulous weather. Virginia was our tour guide and Michael was our boat guide. Both spoke English very well. Our driver Antonio was awesome. To get us through the mountain safely was no easy task. Be sure to have the focaccia and the pesto pasta. The best! The next day we toured Lucca and finished at a local winery. Virginia was our guide again. Loved the consistency in tour guides. Antonio our driver as well. Both are from that region so they were very well versed on the history of the country. Again, we enjoyed local tastes of Lucca. You can’t go wrong with this tour agency. Well worth the price! Thanks for the wonderful memories. We’ll be recommending Mario and his tour group to our friends. Ciao Bella!

I have been joining The Grand Tout Italy Virtual Tours regularly in 2020 and 2021. They are informative and entertaining - and can be joined from wherever you are in the world. I have even been "on tour" when I was on holiday somewhere else in Australia - away from my home town - just by opening my laptop!I Mario is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but has a gift for how to select, package and present information (in this case for online tours) - a rare skill I think. I miss seeing Italy in person because of these very uncertain times - but joining a virtual tour with Mario is the next best thing. Highly recommended.

The virtual tours with Mario Bernardi are wonderful. If you can't get to Italy right now, do the next best thing with an entertaining and informative online tour. If you're planning a trip, this is also a great way to learn about the things you're going to see before you visit. So far, I've seen his virtual tours on Caravaggio, Michelangelo, DaVinci, Botticelli, Donatello, Bernini, Borromini, Ravenna, and St Peter's Basilica. All of them were excellent.
