I have to thank the ItalyXP Customer Service Rep, Sara for helping me organize/design this trip to Bologna and the small country, San Marino. She did everything she can to arrange the tour guides/transportation/timing etc... My driver's name was Eduardo Da Silva Allan. A multilingual man who took good care of me the whole day (12 hours of traveling/driving). Conversations with him was exciting as he knew so much about Italy and the world. Leonardo Bollini, was my tour guide for San Marino. He did a great job explaining to the me the history of Europe's 3rd small country. He even showed me the area where I can get a San Marino immigration stamp on my passport. Last but not least, my last stop, the tour guide was Sara (I can't remember her last name). Also a multilingual woman who did an excellent job explaining the history of Bologna. She even gave me a whole history of the food in Bologna. Writing this review makes me want to just go back to Italy and have ItalyXP plan everything out again for me!!!

Our tour of the Chianti region began in the early afternoon in Tuscany. We were picked up at our hotel on time and we were on our way.We were a small group in a minivan and our driver was very friendly and informative about the area and it’s history. Our first stop was Monteriggione, a medieval walled town built in the 13 th century.Very well preserved. We walked on top of a walkway built for visitors with an amazing view of the countryside. The piazza has lovely old stone buildings with a real old quaint village style. Our second stop was Poggio Armorelli a winery that is owned and operated by the Mazzarrini family. Their wines are of high quality and are certified Chianti Classico. We had a wine tasting in the bottom of the winery and also got to try their specially certified 12 year aged balsamic vinegar.Marco the owner explained the process to us and was a very good host. Next was Castellina di Chianti and although it was a short stop we were able to visit the Romanesque church of San Salvatore. Church is from the 15 th century with frescoes from the 15 th century. The town goes back to the Bronze Age.Our last stop was another winery (Lornano) with certified Chianti Classico. Has been in their family since 1904. Their wines are organic and we were given a tour of their cellars! We also had a wine tasting there as well.Chianti is a beautiful area and this tour gave us a sampling of both it’s wines and historical towns. We are very happy we did this tour!

I booked three tours with ItalyXP for my brief stay in Florence. All were good, but the private tour I asked them to make for me alone about a special subject dear to my heart, was superb, and better than I could have hoped. My guide was knowledgeable, and when he discovered that I knew something of the history I had asked about, he altered the tour to take me to unusual places to expand my knowledge. When I returned, I finally has a list of suggestions of places to visit from an academic/professional organization that had polled members about my subject. My guide had taken me to all the places that had been open, and had told me some things the experts had not mentioned. Bravo to ItalyXP!

It was just my husband and myself, we used XP for a transfer trip from an apartment in Rome to one in Florence, and then again at the end of our stay back to Rome. We had a lot of luggage for an extended 2 month stay in Italy and were staying in Centro Storico in both cities--getting in and out of trains with all our luggage would have been very physically difficult. Miriam, in customer service, is a gem, she efficiently and helpfully arranged everything perfectly to the last detail, and our driver arrived precisely at 10 a.m. as scheduled, I don't know how, given all the crazy traffic in Rome! He whisked us away to the apartment in Florence, a smooth trip in only 3 hours, door to door. Then we used XP again to transfer from the apartment near Ponte Vecchio, in Florence to a hotel in Fiumicino near the Rome airport. Once again, our very polite and expert XPdriver Leonardo, showed up exactly on the dot of 10 a.m. --( how did he do it ?) and zipped us down to the coast in three hours, after which he very kindly carried all of our bags into the hotel, unasked. We traveled in comfort in a Mercedes van. While I won't deny that it was costly for just two people, and a definite luxury for us, it was one of the best decisions we ever made for our comfort on the whole trip. Having door to door service is simply fantastic. XP is a great company, and Miriam is the most attentive, helpful, and nice customer service agent! She answered repeated emails even in the evening, and was unfailingly thorough, polite and helpful. I had some trepidation at first about all the money I was spending up front, but this company is clearly honorable, very serious about what it does and dedicated to providing everything it promises. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again and I suggest that anyone looking for a reliable, efficient, comfortable, prompt, serious, chauffeur company for transfers or other trips, use XP . They are tops for a reason.
