In the summer of 2015, Silvia Frangipane led my extended family and I around Rome for several days. I am a professor of architecture and have traveled to Rome several times, so I was at first not sure if having a guide was going to be necessary. Yet I am so incredibly happy that a friend suggested I hire Silvia to be our tour guide. She was simply incredible in every way imaginable—she was so professional and easy to work with; she spoke with such passion and knowledge that the four teenage children in our group (with ages ranging from 13-18) LOVED her! She made history come alive—with just enough fascinating details that the adults were in awe and always wanting more, as well as just enough quickness and wit that our children always looked forward to the next day when we met up with Silvia. While her depth of knowledge and the accuracy of her knowledge are astonishing, it is her human and personable side that makes hiring Silvia as your guide to Rome the best investment you can make.

When my husband and I met Silvia we liked her instantly! She knows how to navigate the lines and point out the important and exciting highlights. We spent 3 days with Silvia and had we had more time would have loved more adventures with her. Her passion, love and knowledge of Rome, its' art and history was contagious. The Borghese Gallery tour was recommended to us but had we gone there alone, we would not have enjoyed it nearly as much. Silvia gave us a great education and whole new perceptive looking at art. Our tour of the Vatican/Sistene Chapel/St. Peters and the Colosseum were well planned. Silvia's delivery of the history made it all come alive! Our visit to Rome exceeded all our expectations and mostly in part for the time we spent with Silvia. We hope to be back and the first person I will get in touch with is Silvia.

My wife and I, along with our two teenagers and extended family, visited Rome in July 2015. My sister-in-law had asked two friends who had lived in Rome for a knowledgable guide recommendation. Both recommended Silvia. She led us on a memorable tour of historic areas of the city and the Vatican. She’s a pleasure to spend time with. She is immensely knowledgeable of Rome and its history, art and architecture. She presented the City's history in a thought-provoking, fun way. Her English is very good. Her greatest attribute? She had our teenagers' attention! She got them involved, asking them questions without being didactic. We’ll be in touch with Silvia again the next time we’re in Rome.

I took my 13 year old son to Rome as a post exam treat. We spent a wonderful day with Silvia at the Coliseum and Forum and surrounding areas. Silvia brought the whole experience to life our day together set the historical context to our entire holiday. Her knowledge was clearly endless. A must for all visitors to Rome!

We really cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Frangipane and the amazing 2 days we spent with her in Rome. Dr. Frangipane doesn't only explain what you are seeing, she places it in history, with the philosophy, engineering skills, culture and political climate of the time period. Outstanding expertise ! After half an hour we abandoned the tour we had planned and just trusted Silvia to choose our experience. She kept us focused and on track in the Vatican Museums and the Borghese, delighted us with places we had not even read about. ... all with such energy that we were spell bound. Her skillful navigating in the papal gardens meant we barely saw other tourists, it felt like a private discovery. If you are planning on engaging a guide in Rome I highly recommend Dr. Frangipane.
