Especially for lovers of all things bling. this street is full of very interesting jewellery shops, one in particular that caught our eye was "Cotton Club", unique jewellery specialists, we absolutely loved it in here, all items at excellent prices. The mouth of truth earrings (Bocca della Verita) caught our eye. Take your time walking down the street browsing.

This is the street on which I lived for one year back in 1962. I have such fond memories of walking up and down this street – going to the Campo di Fiore, etc. This street was restored by Pope Sixtus IV at the same time that the Sixtus B Bridge (Ponte Sisto) was rebuilt to create a link between the commercial area of the Ponte, Parione and Regola districts with the Trastevere. Its name was derived from the fact that the street used to be the home of several comb manufacturers. The church of San Salvatore in Onda which has the incorrupt body of St Vincent Pallotti and the upscale Hotel Ponte Sisto are on this quaint street.

My wife and I have now stayed twice in the hotel Ponte Sisto in Via dei Pettinari. This is a very nice hotel in a great location - walking distance to most of the major attractions on both sides of the Tiber. For those interested in the architectural fabric of the city, Via Dei Pettinari and adjacent streets such as Via Capodiferro offer a rich variety of building materials including excellent examples of classical fragments embedded in later walling. On a less exalted note, Punto Gelato, directly opposite the hotel, serves wonderful gelati! There's also a nice place serving good coffee and pastries just a few doors along from the hotel.

The road linking the Ponte sisto ( for Trastevere) and the Campo de'Fiore is a typical Roman street, with shops, restaurants, private appartment blocks and bars. Jewellery and leatherware shops sell attractive options for presents

We always like taking a stroll down the Via dei Pettinari. We were surprised to see that this has become a street of jewelers. There were several beautiful stores with decorated windows. The street gives you easy access to the Ponte Sisto, which crosses the Tiber into Trastevere. It is within walking distance of the Campo de’ Fiori, Piazza Farnese and Piazza Navona.

We visited Gelateria Artigianele in Piazza di Sant'Eustachio and were helped by Najata who was pleasant as the gelato was good. We traveled in Italy for 4 weeks following this encounter and never found any other Gelato that was as good.

My husband and I stayed in an Air BNB on this street and it was the best location. Great restaurants nearby, halfway between the Coliseum and the Vatican. Walking distance to many great sites.
