Address
Neighborhood: Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.

Piazza Cavour is worth exploring for the incredible statues and the magnificent Supreme Court building, the front of which faces the Tiber River. Excellent photo opportunities here.

Unlike other squares in Rome, Piazza Cavour has some greenery - palm trees and lawn add to the peaceful nature of this wonderful square. It appeared to be well-used by the locals and is less touristy than the piazzas on the opposite side of the river. Situated behind the magnificent Palace of Justice, and a short walk along the river from the Castel Sant’Angelo and St. Peter’s Square the location is perfect. The square is surrounded by restaurants and cafes, and our favourite gelati shop (Gelati gelati). Not one of the more popular tourist piazzas, and long may it stay that way - it’s perfect and peaceful exactly as it is...

We went to the vicinity of this piazza and were startled to see its serene beauty. Dedicated to Cavour, a Risorgimento protagonist, one of the founding fathers of Italy as we know it today.
It is right in front of the beautiful palazzo della Corte Suprema di Cassazione and near Castel Sant Angelo, a must see landmark in Rome.
Any lover of opera Tosca should seriously consider visiting it, since Mario Cavaradossi was held prisoner in there according to Pucini´s masterpiece.

Laying under a tropical tree on our walk to Vatican City...priceless and so extremely beautiful. We like walking to and between tourist spots for the very reason of a great find like this. The breeze is blowing through on this 90ish degree day...at peace

After three weeks of travelling in Europe the kids were really missing playing on lush green grass. They were frustrated with the "look don't touch" parks in Paris and the dry and somewhat unkempt parks in Barcelona and other parts of Rome and Italy. So when we rounded the corner and came across the sea of soft lush grass they were ecstatic. It's not a big open park but there was room to lie on the grass and let the kids have a run. We weren't looking for a park but rather were on our way to the Metro, yet spent a relaxed hour here.

Best square we've seen in Rome so far.
Nice, clean, lots of seats.
Nice atmosphere, feels like the south rather then the middle of Rome !

Nice place to dwell as you pass by. Piazza Cavour, what's my life for? As Morrissey said. Nice trees and great buildings.

The place has grass and lanes to walk around. The building is the court of Rome. We did not have time to walk around here, but saw it during our audio and city sight seeing tour.
