The area

Neighborhood: Trevi
A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is all about action. From early morning through the wee hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle are the remains of an ancient neighborhood that you can visit by heading over to a repertoire cinema and asking for a peek underground. There is something for everyone, but if peace and quiet are what you seek, plan to visit in the early morning hours.

The church of the French bankers
Dec 2019 • Solo
I stumbled upon this rarely visited late Baroque church by accident and was attracted by its elegant facade with the statues of Saint Andrew and Saint Claudius

This small church, designed by French architect Antoine Dérizet, is quite beautiful inside, so it is definitely worth stepping in, if it is opened.

Quiet, simple and beautiful.
Nov 2019
This small and beautiful church is dedicated to Saint Claudius of Besançon and the apostle Saint Andrew.
It is located in the very center of the shopping center of Rome, right off Piazza San Silvestro, which was once the hub of all buses of Rome.
It was built from 1728 to 1730, one of the five national churches in Rome dedicated to France, and designed by French architect Antoine Dérizet.
The statues of the two patron saints by the French sculptors Grandjacquet and Breton are placed on the façade.
The interior has a Greek cross shape and on the main altar there is a fresco “Lord Blessing” by Antonio Bicchierai with two angels on the side of by Bernini's school.
Noteworthy : On the left side chapel is the polychrome marble sarcophagus ,work of Corrado Mezzana, containing the shrine of St Peter Julian Eymard, the founder of the Sacramentine Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament. The center altarpiece features a painting by Placido Costanzi which depicts St. Charles Borromeo in Ecstasy (1731).
On the left there is the chapel of the Resurrection, with and altarpiece of Jean-François de Troy; a little icon of Madonna and child is also enshrined here.
The side chapel on the right is dedicated to St. Joseph and is decorated with modern works of Cleto Luzi (1949), "Dream of St. Joseph" and "the Flight into Egypt". On the altar stands a sculpture representing St. Joseph between two angels made by Guido Francisci.
Quiet, simple and beautiful. Not on the touristic map.
It deserves a brief visit, if you are around.

Beautiful exterior
We fell in love with the exterior so went inside. We could see the extravagant gold decoration in the alter. The dome was also very nice to see.

It is right infront of the piazzo, so you won't miss it although not many people seemed to go in.

The Church of Saints Claudius and Andrew of the Burgundians
Nov 2013 • Couples
The Church of Saints Claudius and Andrew of the Burgundians (also known just as Saint Claudio) is just off of Piazza di San Silvestro, in the Spanish Steps area. It is a French Church, rarely visited by tourists. The exterior has statues of the two saints that the church is dedicated to. Inside, I particularly like the dome and a little side chapel with a lovely depiction of the Madonna.
